So curious, which series, franchise, shows, whatever have the best Parallel/Alternate Universes do you think?

My favorites are among: DC stories(Elseworlds, Classified, Crisis, Earth 2, Injustice etc), Star Trek, Fringe, Sliders, Mortal Kombat(MK:SM and outside media) and that's my favorite series/franchises with the best Alternate Universe stories.

What are yours?

Marvel is ok, I enjoy DC's more personally. Does image have one at all?

@vaeternus: technically speaking there are only a few characters that share the same universe(mostly the heroes share the same universe I believe).

@vaeternus: I believe almost all titles from the 90's and Invincible share the same universe. Walking Dead, Saga, Chew, etc I believe are in other universes.

Kingdom Come and Red Son alone make DC the winner.

X-Men (Days of Future Past, Age of Apocalypse, Age of X, etc) very hard to beat.

I'm not sure I see what you mean, saying you think entirely different franchises are all about of the same universe/multiverse? So you think TMNT Universe is the same as DC and MK universe? :-/ *confused* If so I respectfully disagree :)

Animewise, the Fate franchise has great alternates.

Comicwise, probably Marvel due to the sheer amount of Universes.

TV-wise, Twilight Zone is a clear winner.

Transformers, although the advantage Transformers have is that, there is no single definitive universe. Each new series represents a new universe under the Transformers brand.

Kind of like what DC does with the cartoons in a way(separate from the comics, but yet based on DCU)

@joeagentofhand1, ahh ok lol that makes sense.

I do love the ST mirrorverse, that'll be the next ST pack I pick up with alternate realities

this (especially in DS9, well, and Mirror, Mirror, really any time it appears it's great)

I'm liking Earth 2 at the moment, but in general, I find Marvel's universes more interesting

@vaeternus: Yes, several actually. There is the one that Fionna and Cake live in and the Pillow World Finn traveled to and has children from. In the Leech it is also mentioned that their are many alternate dimensions/universes that can be traveled to through certain means.

@stoneo, oh neat. Yeah, never got into happy time, is that the kiddy show? i'll have to google it

Marvel in this case.

Was never a fan of MU Alternates, to me DC has far better stories with Crisis, Elseworlds, Classifieds, He-Man, Vertigo etc I can be here all day really.

Of course for TV, Twilight Zone has among the best. Star Trek.

I don't think Fionna and Cake's "universe" is truly an alternate universe, isn't it just fan-fic written by characters on the show?

#44 Posted by Vaeternus (8326 posts) - - Show Bio

Didnt lucas himself confirm years ago that the eu i sw isnt canon?

But I concur dcu is the best with alternate universes

#45 Posted by alvanorichie (4 posts) - - Show Bio

Thor`s parallel world is my favorite.

Tower Of Babel, it should have been cannon and they made Batman waaaaaay too weak on that Arc it's worthy of a smh gif.

My alternate universe where I am Vegeta...Prince of All Saiyans. No but seriously, I'd have to say that Muppet Christmas movie where Kermit wishes he was never born.
