I have always had a child like spirit and somewhat immature. As a kid I always found it funny that grown ups watched shows about Lawyers and Docters, seemed real boring to me. I watched cartoons about 90% of the time. The first live action show I watched that was more aimed at 17+ was Breaking Bad, but the day I realized I was really growing up was when I started watching shows like Franklin and Bash, New Girl, The League etc and I watched less and less cartoons. Of course recently started reading comics but lets face it those havent been for kids in a long time. But to cut it short When did you realized you're grown? You dont have to base it of my realization, tell me what made you think it.
When did you realize you grew up?

@saint_rog_el fun fact MJ was originally going to play Robin Williams part in the movie.
im a Male....I will never grow up...
Yep this!
Depends on what you mean "grow up"? I've matured in the sense of responsibility in regards of school. Other than that, I goof around, act like a two year old and obsess over video games, comics and things people regularly make fun of me for :P
I don't really care though. My dream is to make video games and even write about them as I occasionally do. Heck, I'm in school TO make video games! :D
I've matured in the sense that I've realised I'm not the kind of guy who likes to go out clubbing, drink loads of alcohol and be violently sick or get into any other kind of stupid nonsense on a night out that people still get out to. But I still like the kind of fictional properties such as comics, games and films that people would tease me for.
When I could stand and see my Dad at about Eye Level and also when I saw Hair around my Bawls in the Shower.

This is a big part of it. Stop acting like a forced grown-up is a big part of growing up :)

Heh university has shown me that much. I am living at home though to it might be different if I were living in accomodation.
When I got my own place. Bills, bills, bills. Oh and I can smoke and drink with my uncles without the nagging.

Speaking from experience as it being a better thing are we?
Boooo! You're LAME! :D
Because I totally want to end up in one of those drunk memes on the Internet :P
So many funny responses, makes me regret making the op so serious. My joke response would have been "when I finally beat my dad in a drunk fist fight"
I don't think that watching tv series instead of cartoons makes you a grown up.
I should have clarified, it wasnt that what made me into an adult, but I had an "Oh S#!t" moment and it made me realize that I wasnt a kid anymore, but watching those shows is only part of it.
@lvenger: Unsure. I'd wanna get that experience of freedom and being...in that situation, but living at home has its perks too.
Dude you've no idea how much I want that too. But it's certain problems that kept me back. I have multiple food allergies for one so cooking for myself on top of work and socialising would be a massive chore. Not to mention the increased university fees making my debt incredibly extortionate to pay back.
@lvenger: The balance is good. But still...I'd always want to go and see what it's like on "the other side" or so.
@theacidskull: Think you're forgetting I was the one in the cadets for fours years leading a squad of 25 other cadets ;) I've just grown childish as its funner.
I don't think I ever "grew up" as I still love children's shows and childish things. But when I was nine or so, me and a friend were playing with toys when he had to go home. I went back to my room to play with them and just picked one up and began to stare at it. After about a minute, I asked myself "Why?", set the toy back down and never really had fun playing with them again. While I did still get toys for a few more years, they were more for the daycare kids at my house than for me. That's the only time in my life that I was aware enough that I was growing up.
