i don't have alot of games compared to some people out there. and the ones i do play, some were too damn hard to beat on the maximum difficulty level without dying once in a campaign or had dumb achievements.
take for example, Microsoft's full house poker game.
there are achievements you could only earn in the year 2011.
what if the person purchased the game in a later year, like myself?
that game isn't that good anyway, so who cares. I mean most of the time the computer opponents you play against in custom matches somehow pull a better set of cards out of their ***es and they all fold 95% of the time when you got a decent hand, so gaining a huge bankroll came down to pure luck. no different than a casino slot machine.
correct me if I'm wrong, but does the Wii have a leaderboard system for every game? I didn't notice any, maybe because I use mine to play VC games.
I don't see that as a bad thing however, because it removes the possibility of hackers showing off non legit scores and gameplay times online, you can always use a capture card to prove how good you are.
the fad of gaming isn't what it used to be.
although back in the 90's, there was this issue with password systems on some sega megadrive games cause devs were too lazy to add memory to the carts for saves. read about Virgin's Another world aka Out of this World game. that I'm sure, would of gave people an easy way to cheat if they had the internet at the time.
