Yeah, the album is many ways an ode to Pharrell Williams. Which I like, because I think Pharrell Williams is one of the best producers in R and B. He goes for a bit of Hard Rock theme too, but honestly I think he could have gone harder TBH- I lunno if Trash Talk helped with the album, as they are signed to Odd Future. I've heard people complain about the mixing, but its intentional, so it isn't a knock on his experience. It doesn't bother me too much, but I can understand why it would rustle some N!gga's jimmies. Personally, I didn't like the fact that the features are uncreditied, but that's a small thing TBH.
I'm feeling a 7-8/10. It has some of the best intrumentals Tyler has even done. I feel that rap wise, he's dropped a bit from Wolf, which is a bit dissapointing. But I like that with the album, you can feel his musical influences more, Toro y moi, Pharrell and Kayne in particular. If Tyler pervious album's where insight to himself as person, this is a more of an insight into himself as a muscian. Hence why he said this is music he's always wanted to make.
