Personally, I don't care. I don't pay much attention to the ring girls anyway, as I use between round breaks to go to the bathroom, get a drink, etc. So it wouldn't matter to me personally.
However the business stance of most fight promotions would be that their demographic is primarily male so, ring girls.

Seems fair. Holding up a sign doesn't sound like a job that requires you to be a particular sex.
Edit: There's mens' and womens' categories for MMA right? Have ring girls for one, and ring guys for the other. Or just have them mixed.
