I can lift if but swinging with it is the only problem, though i am only 15 years old yet so i will get stronger. And if a robber would come into my house equipped with a knife or something i would counter it using boxing tactics and knock him out :)

Meh It's just for a decoration :) but It's still made out of steel and is very sharp so it could be useful against intruders.

My wits. I would hide under my bed or in the closet while calling the police. If the person has already spotted me, try to jump out the window while screaming at the top of my lungs so my neighbours would hear.

My phone, to call an ambulance for the idiot I just shot in the leg. Gun seem extreme? I would take no chances with the safety of my family, but I don't feel obliged to kill anyone either.

For those of you saying you would only use a weapon if the intruder were armed, how do you intend to determine whether the intruder is armed? Will you ask politely about their weapon status? Will you do a pat down search to confirm they are unarmed? Will you go after the intruder unarmed at first and then call a time out if you see they are carrying a weapon to allow you time to go find or purchase a defense? How far does your sense of fairness towards this individual who broke into your home with the intent of doing you harm extend? If you will only take up arms if they are armed, will you only use a weapon of the same type to remove any chances of an unfair advantage on your behalf? Would you hit them at only 80% of your strength if you were 20% more muscular than them? Would you take pauses after every bullet fired to allow the enemy a free shot lest you spoil the equitabity of the game?

Personally, I would shoot an intruder, preferably with my Tarus 740 loaded with hollow points.
