I don't know if it was my absolute favourite, or how little you mean, but this comes to mind:

@v_scarlotte_rose: I guess from whenever you can first remember to around six is what I mean

@betatesthighlander1: That works then. I'm sure I know that book from before I started primary school.

Yeah, I was a very mature child.

@betatesthighlander1: Yes sir! Born in Serbia, moved to Canada at eight months of age and didn't learn a lick of English (besides some television) until I started school!

I have a lot of favorite books when I was little, but probably my most favorite book I read when I was little and still read now is:

No, my parents didn't read comics to me, but I did manage to talk my older sister into reading them to me before I could do it myself.

@powerherc:

that is the most adorable thing I've heard all day!

@powerherc: you were...you were just a little kid, you didn't know how to read yet, but you wanted to read comics so you had your big sister do it

how is that not adorable?

#35 Edited by Betatesthighlander1 (7462 posts) - - Show Bio

@referee: yes, the quiet passing of basic knowledge and ideals found in children's books is pretty sweet

@betatesthighlander1: Agreed,

What I remember most about the book was when my father read it to me he would pretend to have trouble turning the pages, after Grover would tie them up or whatever. Ah childhood

#38 Posted by Betatesthighlander1 (7462 posts) - - Show Bio

@referee:

so,metimes when my dad would read The Horse in Harry's Room he'd purposely mix up the words "horse" and "Harry"

Oh man. I don't even remember...considering I learned the alphabet at 5 (it seems these days kids already have rudimentary reading and writing skills before Kindergarten, but we did not back then). I have no clue what my favorite was, but the things that stick out in my mind, in no particular order, are Goodnight, Moon, Paddington Bear, Peter Rabbit, and absolutely anything related to Winnie the Pooh.

@lykopis: I love Madeline! I think there was a cartoon of it as well? =O

We love our bread, we love our butter, but most of all, we love each other.

@lykopis: 'tis quite the endearing subject. I'd be lying if I denied having enormous warm fuzzies myself, thinking back.
