What to do about obesity?
Workout and stop eating so much? I dunno. It's really up to the choices people make, we can only educate them on what is the right choice and what's not.

Force feed broccoli to obese people.
Just kidding. In all honesty it's about changing people's mind set. I used to weigh just under 300lbs. I was tired all the time, had huge insecurities about my appearance, etc. So I decided to go on a diet and exercise. Truthfully it was more diet than exercise for me. After about a year I now weigh 223lbs. I still have a way to go to be "in shape", but I'm making progress.
There isn't that much you can do. It's up to that person. I'm sure they know what they are eating is bad for them and they know they should be exercising but they simply don't.
Proper Diet and working out.
It is easier to control it before it gets out of hand. Most people when they reach a certain size they give up too easy.
The worst part is, if they just commit for a month. The difference they feel in there body for that one month would push them to there goal.
I have been there train quite a few people so I know.
It is all about your mindset. If you want it you will do it.
@sophia89: what country am I from? England,
@ordinaryalan: Good job and good luck man.
@gymgoer205: Thanks man. It's a day-to-day journey.
@hylian: I wish you the best on your fitness journey.
@gymgoer205: well, a good start can be leaking the fat.......
Well getting rid of the whole ultra liberal "Fat shaming" concept would be a start. You shouldn't be telling people that it's okay or even encouraging people to be obese or unhealthy.
Then you should educate people about diet, nutrition and exercise especially to young kids.
I never understood how someone could let their self go that much. Losing weight is actually not that hard.
Just do these things.
1. Exercise.
2. Change what you eat.
3. Change how much you eat.
4. Drink plenty of water.
Nothing because I'm not obese. Though if I, by some miracle, became obese: Eat healthy, do a ton of cardio.
Obesity is very much a matter of genetics as well, and although nurture contributes a significant amount many people are simply naturally fat. This is often linked to the thyroid gland which controls your metabolism and in many people it's not functioning properly thus leading to low metabolism rates and increased weight gain.
Consider getting a doctor's checkup to see whether you have these problems, because these can often be solved quite easily through medication which restores hormonal levels back to normal.
That being said don't look to the thyroid or broken metabolism excuse if you're eating too much, you also have to work towards it and live a healthy life.
Not to sound like a jerk, but if my kid was eating un-healthy nonstop and was getting bigger; that kid would be hitting the gym everyday.

Not that simple. I agree, when you are young, this is the best approach and it (usually) works fine (and quickly).
When you become older, if you have been overweight for a long period of time, it becomes immensely difficult and you need (most of the time) a professional help.
@monsterstomp: I see where you're coming from. Personally, I don't need to have a disease to try to find ways to help those that do. Too each their own though.

See I'm pretty young so those 4 things do it for me.
@ariesxmasters: another reason why I don't like young people (just kidding).
Eat less, drink more water, and buy a treadmill. For every cupcake/cookie/donut you eat, run like, I don't know, 15 minutes on the treadmill. Lower your sugar intake(choose G2 instead of regular Gatorade, buy Diet Iced Tea instead of regular, etc). Eat a banana or apple for a snack instead of a bag of chips. Don't eat a big meal past 7 p.m. Get educated. By that, I mean pay more attention to what's in the food you're earing and what it does to you. If you're a parent, don't go buying your kids In n Out every weekend after their Little League game. Limit fast food to about, I don't know, once a week? Get them started early on veggies and fruits. Don't introduce them to Nutella. Make it more advantageous for them to engage in physical activities instead of playing video games all day, like offer them rewards or something. Involve them in a sport and make them want to excel at it.
Okay wrote way more than I should've, but you get the idea. Lol
Eat less and no more seating on the chair and doing things u shouldn't be doing! Get those legs moving :) my helpful advice so u don't have too
Kill em off I say! Kill off obesity with a firestick and a salad!
Its not that hard to stay reasonably HWP. Don't eat junk every day (once or twice a week isn't going to kill you) and try to exercise. 1 hour a day will go a long way and its not too hard to set aside. Even 30 minutes is a lot.
South Park said it's in your genes to be fat so it's in your Genes to be fat. TOO BAD FOR YOU!!!!!!!
@wolverine08: I think the OP expects an answer closer to "set up concentration camps and kill the obese."
Do you have some sort of obsession with the obesity epidemic or something? This is like the third thread you've made about it in a pretty short amount of time.
@wolverine08: I think the OP expects an answer closer to "set up concentration camps and kill the obese."
You'll the first thrown into the camps brah.

Man, I'm a bit stocky, but I should be ok. We need to start a guerrilla campaign and save people from the fascist gymgoers.
