What's your favorite fighting game franchise?

Super Smash Brothers.

Other things come and go, but when a new SSB game is announced everyone notices.

DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi

Virtua Fighter.....

SF, the father of the genre, maybe not the father, but the one who reinvented the genre to what it is today.

Soul Calibur. It's the only one I'm halfway decent at thus far.

You could have at least put another certain fighting game down.

I voted for Tekken but I like all of them pretty much.

Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat should really be on that list since they are both hundreds of times more popular then certain others listed. Biased much?

Smash Bros., the other fighting games feel like who can spam more which I find annoying.

Yeah no doubt. I haven't really given that game a chance though, lol.

It's been one of Nintendo's killer apps since the 64 era. It's much more easily picked up than most other fighting games but has a surprising level of depth.

Dead or Alive 2: Ultimate on PS2 is still my favorite fighting game. Although Street Fighter, MK, Marvel vs Capcom, and Killer Instinct are also favs.

Never played a DBZ fighting game as big a DBZ fan as I am.

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and wonder why Mortal Kombat was omitted. Tekken was always a favorite of mine playing in the arcade, otherwise I did love the Marvel games. X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom, etc.

Seconded. I distinctly remember playing the original Mortal Kombat in the arcade when it first came out, as well as Killer Instinct and KI2.

And Mortal Kombat way the hell had Arcade machines. The entire point of fatalities was so that you'd have to put in more quarters to find them out and pull them off.

Admittedly its pretty hard for me to pick up and enjoy fighting games. I consider myself to enjoy a wide range of games, but Fighters are among the hardest.

I enjoyed Injustice. But I don't know that its a franchise. Otherwise they one that fits the description would be Soul Caliber. And even that I'm not jumping up and down about - I just wasn't bored either lol,
