Take your pick and explain why?
What's better? Batman:Year One or All Star Superman
@life_without_progress: This is comic related, might as well put it in General Discussion.
All Star Superman.
@allstarsuperman Care to join in and share your thoughts? :p

I have honestly never read year one, only saw the movie year one.
@allstarsuperman: The movie was the exact same thing with better art. Probably the most faithful DC Animated movie adaptation, actually.

sweet, well then.I will vote all star superman.
Both are awesome but if I had to choose I'd have to give the win to All Star. Although I will admit that this is partially because of my hatred of Frank Miller.
Well I guess I'll say it, superman can only have an interesting story when he dies ;)
;)
Year One. All Star felt like fanboy porn to me. Whenever anybody talks about AllStar all they ever mention is the stuff Superman does. Not what happened to him. To me the most character development in All Star was with Luthor and not the title character. On the other hand, Year One was perfect in tone and setting in developing Batman from a vigilante to "The Batman". Also, Gordon was portrayed brilliantly in YO.
All Star Superman. You want a definitive portrayal of what Superman is? Allstar is the book you read. So rarely do we get a true representation of what and who a character is but in All star Superman you get to meet a man in his truest form. When he's dying, when he's grieving, when he's doing his job to the utmost of his abilities, when he's in love, when he's scared....Allstar Superman took an indestructible sun-god and made him vulnerable and scared while still maintaining that persons heroism and strength. Superman is designed to be the perfect hero....All Star maintained that idea while putting him at his lowest point.

Year One is amazing. I prefer it over ASS by far.
....made me laugh

I wouldn't call it the definitive version. I would just call it a hallmark of the silver age.
