Am curious whats hot in the world of novels these days.. I've been recommended so many now i have time on my hands.. and to be fair, aside from Tim Dorsey, I've found little to fire the imagination. I've heard that Looking-Glass Wars is worth a read and just happens to have comic book tie-ins.
So whats floating your boats guys and gals?
What novels are you reading these days?
Trying to read the Alchemist every night, but I usually end up dosing off after a few pages.
But I usually read David Sedaris and Chuck Palahniuk, or whatever my friends recommend me
I'm reading Greg Rucka's novelization of Batman: No Man's Land right now. Last book I finished was the first Dean Koontz Frankenstein book last year. I'm usually so busy with new comics, back issues and trades I have no time for novels.
Anything by R.A.Salvatore is fantastic :-) I adore his series about Drizzt, the drow elf. Such a good writer. It's a long series, but he keeps every book interesting.
And of course, Harry Potter. I'm reading it over for I think the 80th time (no joke). It never gets old.
Right now I'm reading Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I'm not even half way through and it is soooo good!
I'm aiming to read the Hunger Games next cause people keep telling me that they're good.
I read all the Drizzit books myself.. and re-read many now i have them on my ipad and likewise some of the classic Dean Koontz (thats Lightening / Bad Place era for me)
I have some Terry brookes and Goodkin on my shelf but never got round to reading any of them.. maybe nows the time.
Am just eating up books right now :)
Tch, novels? I dont' have time. I'm trying to write one. . .
Kidding! I read generally whatever I can get my hands on. I just finished reading Mary, Mrs. A Lincoln, which, if you're interested in that kind of thing, is a fictional biography of Mary Lincoln. I really need to get to a library. . .
I've got a few going at the moment. Illuminatus! Trilogy, Earthsea Trilogy and To Your Scattered Bodies Go.
It's not a novel, but I just finished reading The Wordy Shipmates my Sarah Vowell. It is a very funny and interesting look at early American history.
About half way through "Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins. Nice addition to the series.Hah I'm about halfway through "Catching Fire" right now.
@texasdeathmatch: I love how she writes. Short and sweet. Judging by the third book, I'd say "Catching Fire" is my least favorite, even though it was still very good. Very, very good.Good to know, I'm actually getting tired of this "oh which boy should I choose" Twilight nonsense. Slowly coming to the realization I may be reading a book series for teenage girls, so hopefully the violence comes back, fast.
But yeah, her writing is awesome. Easy to read yet extremely descriptive.
About half way through "Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins. Nice addition to the series. You will not expect the ending
Right now im just beginning the Wheel of Time series. Im on the first book and its a pretty good read but its long and seems full of filler.

- American Gods by Neil Gaiman (halfway done)
Thats a great book. If you like it I suggest you follow up with Anasi Boys.
Also I would suggest you read Good Omens, one of my favorite books ever.
The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl
It's really terrific, especially for a lover of La Commedia Divina :)
I've run short on good books to read as of now... I'll need to venture onto the book store and find some more. Eventually.
Last book I read was The Hunger Games which was really good but the sequels kind of sucked I heard. I am reading Blackwater for school and The Shining for fun.
Game of Thrones. I want to read the entire series so that I can find out what's going to happen next season on the show. Haha.lol same here....what book are you reading?
