What makes a perfect superhero team?

What group of powers, hero archetypes and genres makes an ideal hero team? In other words, what are the most common aspects of members of a superhero team that a hero ensemble requires?

Batman. That is all.

If they go out and eat after every battle. Or at least have a team building excersis. It also helps if you know who they are, can trust them, annnd.... What there special ability is. But who really cares about the latter. :p

You have to have people that contribute in every way. A Heavyhitter(Thor, Hulk, or Superman), a genius(Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne), someone with resources(again Tony Stark or Batman), a speedster(Flash), a tactician(Batman or Captain America), and a leader/role model for the public eye(Superman or Captain America).

I've always thought you need a tank, a leader, a smart guy (for lack of a better word), DPS, a face, the chick, and a teleporter. The latter isn't compulsory but should be. Extra characters with flight (if the other members can't fly) are also an asset, as are people who can fund the team.

Sounds like your average World of Warcraft dungeon group.

Portals and teleportation can all be performed by a mage, summoning is taken care of by a warlock. Not sure what you mean by a face though.

@mysticmedivh: A party's face is the person who does most of, if not all, the social interacting. They're usually charismatic and attractive, or at the very least are good at talking to people.

I'd say enough members to fill the following roles:

• Strategist
• Scientist
• Engineer
• Heavy Hitter // Brick
• Resource Manager
• Speedster
• Public Relations
• Telepath
• Magician // Sorcerer // Wizard

The closest thing we have to that is the tank or raid leader, who usually coordinates everything over Skype or Ventrillo.

Superman and Batman everyone else is just along for the ride.

The Big Guy

The Fast Guy

The Sneaky Guy

The Smart Guy

The Weapons Expert

The Elemental Guy

The Mario (Jack of all Stats)

The Support

There's no such thing as a perfect superhero team. Imperfections are what make a team interesting. A good example of this is Uncanny Avengers.
