Shouldn't you tell them? I hate how people cant tell their own family that they are no longer religious.Sorry about that

@mrdecepticonleader: Oh I've told them alright. But they're in denial. And I don't want to pursue it anymore. I'd rather keep to my beliefs than see them get stressed out. They're very conservative, you see.

I see.So do you still go to church pray with them etc? If they ask you to?

#159 Edited by ssejllenrad (12847 posts) - - Show Bio

@mrdecepticonleader: See that's the big problem. When I visit them and they try to tell me to pray or go to church, I always say I'd just be a hypocrite in doing so... And then I'm respected with my own decision. But then it seems the words enter one ear then goes out the other. Next visit, same routine. I think just because I believe in a possibility of a creator of the universe/multiverse/cosmos, they automatically think I'm religious... No matter how hard I deny it.

Well if that is the case maybe you should tell them you are an atheist :) Or could that make things worse?

#162 Edited by ssejllenrad (12847 posts) - - Show Bio

@mrdecepticonleader: That will make it much worse. I don't want my parents to die. My father already got hypertension when I told him the Catholic Church accepts evolution as more than just a theory. Imagine what his reaction would be had he known I've jumped the fence to devilbuttf*ckland... Not to mention I'm not really an atheist. SO STOP BUGGERING ME, INFIDEL!!!! Nyahahahahahaha!

@mrdecepticonleader: As a consolation, my Catholic wife knows what I believe and allows me to it. She's not the hardliner type. Though I think her parents would die if they realize their daughter is married to an apostate. And I don't want that.... Wait... Do I? Come to think of it...... I think I'll tell them right now. >:D
