In this case, yes. The Masai are very much a more organic part of the African Savanna than you or me. Furthermore, Lions are vicious interspecific competitors and kill/displace any other predator in thier vicinity given the chance (with the exception of Hyena's), even animals that have very little dietary overlap with them. And when they kill other predators like Hyena's, Cheetah's or Leopards, they don't even have the deceny to eat the body, they just leave it there. Basicially, Lions are douchebags in the Savanna so I see it as just deserts. And its not like the Masai are gunning them down with machine guns, they are using wits and intelligence to take the prey. Its really no different from how Spotted Hyena's use thier greater intelligence, (and numbers) to compete successfully with Lions.
@laflux: I see, so it's only acceptable when it favors the humans then? :) That doesn't really sit well with me. And most animals are territorial like that, here's an idea, why don't these tribesmen go fetch all the predators Lions supposedly kill and don't eat instead?
@bruxae: Lions rarely lose food to anything, accept maybe the angry Buffalo herd or mob of Hyena's. As for collecting food from the Predators Lions kill, most Predators have the sense to run from Lions, so Lions don't kill them with that much regularity.
Are the Humans angels? No. and if they where stealing food from Hunting Dogs or Cheetah's, which lose up to 50 percent of thier food to other hunters in the first place, I would probably be as pissed off as you. But Its not like the Masai are anywhere near the biggest threat to Lions compared to other factors, like poaching, Habitat loss, FIV (Feline Aids basicially) or inbreeding..
@bruxae Furthermore, its a very dangerous tactic. If the Lions call the bluff, then they are essentially dead men. If you watch the whole video, the Masai tribesmen said that they were 15 lions. If those lions charged, and we assume at best, each Masai with his spear and Machete, could take one each, they would still be stomped.

It's nature. I don't have a problem with it. Also, they left the lions the majority of the food. As I said before, the lions use their claws, teeth, strength and speed to get food and the humans used their superior intellect.

I mean if that's the only way they can eat/survive then sure, do what you got to do, but otherwise I think they should go hunt their own game and let the lions eat their kill.
