Die to add plot but come back as a killer and end up trying to kill the main character but end up snapping out of it because the main character convinced you not to kill him and then end up having a shady relationship with him and then even at a point take his place.

Winter Soldier and Jason Todd are kinda similar huh?

1. In the comics, to help the hero, watch their back and eventually, continue the legacy

2. In the real world, at least, back in the old days, they were a way for the readers (children) to identify more with the comics. "Hey, Robin's a kid just like me! Holy Heroism Batman!"

Unlike the majority of people, I actually like sidekicks more than the main hero. I've compiled a list:

Job Description:

  • Provide emotional support to hero in his time of need. Give him hope. Be the reason to stay in the fight.
  • Support the hero by assisting with the work load
  • Be willing to do menial tasks rather than always being at the center of the action.
  • Serve as public relations for the hero.
  • Be the one who gets the henchmen or saves the victims so that the hero can go after the Big Bad.
  • Must be willing to work in a team as a subservient as well as willing to work alone taking on lower level criminals.
  • Train to eventually replace the hero.
