"What If" thread.

What if Thor turned into a bad guy?

Avengers form and break-up repeatedly over the years, never quite getting it right. The heroes are smart enough to know that there is a need for the team but lack the leadership and guidance to maintain strong unit cohesion. As a result, villains enjoy more success than they should have and some heroes would likely perish.

My question: What if both Ben Reilly and Peter Parker had survived the Clone saga? Let's assume that it is known that Ben is the clone once and for all.

Batman would have been pushed over the edge and began killing his bad guys.

What if Thor turned into a bad guy?

He is going to lose control of the Hammer, and somebody worthly will pick it up to deal with Evil Thor.

My question - what if Captain America's side had won the Civil War?

@kairan1979: Heroes would have been hunted by Sentinels, and create chaos in America. Norman Osborn would have won the Siege.

@ammunition: It would have motivated him even more to find a cure, and the world wouldn't have a Hulk for many battles where he was needed.

What if aunt May hadn't been shot, and OMD never happened?

Ben would become the one and only Spiderman, but a better one than Peter, since he would have more focus on his superhero life.

What if the Marvel trinity had never existed?

@maccyd: Avengers would most likely not have been formed, depending on the points of divergence. Assuming Cap died in WW2 or Project Rebirth never happened, Tony died in Afghanistan, and Thor stayed in Asgard, SHIELD would employ the other Avengers members.

The baby could have been a part of the Bat Family or Joker could have driven either Babs or her baby or both of them into crazy criminals.

He'd be the first contact with alien life and be mistrusted by world powers. Black ops would be formed specifically to defeat him.

What if General Zod had landed on Earth instead of Superman?

The government assembles Lex Luthor, Batman, Green Lantern, and basically everyone else in a government sponsored JLA. That is, if Zod didn't destroy the USA first.

What if the Cuban Missile Crisis became a nuclear exchange in the DC Universe?

What if the Wayne family found Kal-El, adopted him and batman and superman were raised as brothers?

Superman, Captain Atom, Wonder Woman, Doctor Fate and any superhero capable would try to stop as much of the exchange as possible, but it'd be simply too much, causing several areas to turn into wastelands. Several heroes would probably turn mad from the grief and some villains would exploit the destruction.

What is the Justice League (The big 7) never existed?

I'll restate my question from above. What if the Wayne family found Kal-El, adopted him and batman and superman were raised as brothers?

@whoisme: Bruce would likely be suspicious of Kal once his powers manifested. Depending on how events turn out, they might try to kill one another.

@maccyd: Another Big 7 would take their place. A Green Lantern will always exist to police Sector 2814 so either Abin Sur or any of the human Lanterns other than Hal. Next up we should have Atom, Hawkman, Hawkwoman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Zatanna, and a Green Lantern as either leader or co-leader if it's Kyle Rayner.

What if Wakanda abandoned its neutrality and T'chaka/T'challa decided to expand their kingdom?

@mandarinestro: Avengers and x-men would step in. Some Gillian's might throw their weight behind Wakanda, but they still lose by a hair.

What If Captain America actually died during WW2 in the marvel Universe?

Depending on the point of divergence, the X-Men might be less united than they are before Marvel NOW. The Alpha Flight might be a slightly more important team than they are in current continuity.
