I have finals coming up, with my first one being tomorrow. I simply hate studying. I don't have the mindset to just sit down and re-read my notes. I have good grades, higher than average in my program, but it's just not enough. What helps you guys/gals study?
Music doesn't work with me 90% of the time. The only time it does is if it is on so low, that I can't hear anything specific, just some noise that I can barely here.
Go to a place with quiet and no distraction. Including a computer/internet if at all possible. The internet is a big distraction for me, hence I am on here now.
Write down what you need to do on a scratch piece of paper, and do it . It makes me feel like I am accomplishing something.
I've been studying for my chemistry final, and whenever I am working on calculation problems, I find that music (movie soundtracks specifically) set at very low levels helps. However if I am just reading then I need complete silence and staying away from possible distractions, like my laptop.
I stand up and turn the TV on this helps me a lot. I also do squats when I am about to die from boredom. I am visual learner and have photographic memory for the most part so I personally think the best way to memorize information quickly is to just reread and look at it. Another thing is to avoid CV. It is so distracting XD TV helps me a lot while music is just distracting....>.>
I find summarizing and writing or re-writing notes helps me better memorize information as of late. You think what you right and read it out loud to yourself.
I rarely study, but when I do, t.v. I always watch basketball games when I study or someting. Oddly when I listen to music while studying I wont get anything done.

Complete silence, summarizing and studying the notes I made. And most importantly, no tv, internet, games or any other distraction because i've got a terrible attention span..
