IN short, other countries have a dish that they're usually recognized by. But, with Americans, I notice this dish may vary between many people. So, what food do YOU think defines Americans(you don't have to be American to answer this, by the way.)
What food(dish or otherwise) defines Americans?
none. since majority of the foods are not american in origin.
but, if i had to think what food describes an american, i say Hot dogs and soda
Well i'm foreign (for you Americans anyway). And the first thing i think about when talking about American food are hamburgers/cheeseburgers.
none. since majority of the foods are not american in origin. but, if i had to think what food describes an american, i say Hot dogs and sodawell yes, of course. But, Americans as a whole have adopted many things into our society that they are just known as American food, even though many people know of the origins of the food itself.
yup. i hate when people adopt others culture and claim it as its own.. >_> especially cuisine. >=l@OblivionKnight said:

Whenever I think of "American food", I always think of something grilled and served with a side of something fried. And screw the health concerns; as long as it makes your tummy feel good, it's all good.
So yeah, I'm-a say cheeseburger with a side of fries.
Although that BBQ ribs/french fry combo looks absolutely appetizing.

Stop hating bud. Every goddamn country in the world has adopted one thing or another. It's Hotwings and a cold beer for me. HOOTERS!!yup. i hate when people adopt others culture and claim it as its own.. >_> especially cuisine. >
But we Americans are England's children! I know we don't call as often as we should, and we aren't as well behaved as our goody-two shoes brother, Canada. Who by the way has never had a girlfriend. (whispers) I'm just sayin'…

LMFAO!
thisAnything that gets you obese, diabetes, cancer, heart disease or high blood pressure.
The Bacon Sundae from Denny's
Mmmm...
Double bacon(preferably turkey bacon) cheeseburgers with perfectly melted cheese and toasted buns.
The fries have the perfect amount of salt so that it's not overwhelmingly salty yet you can taste it.
An ice cold coca cola with just the perfect amount to me through the entire meal.
This is my American dish.
Definately the cheeseburger and fries.
Though a T-bone steak and corn on the cob grilled to perfection deserves at least a mention.
Mexicans and Native Americans who know for sure that is not an actual taco from their respective culture..
hence Americanized or more specifically Anglicized
Mexicans and Native Americans who know for sure that is not an actual taco from their respective culture.. hence Americanized or more specifically Anglicizedright but Americans aren't claiming tacos/burritos etc as their own, they're just making a shitty interpretation of mexican food.
Mexicans and Native Americans who know for sure that is not an actual taco from their respective culture.. hence Americanized or more specifically Anglicizedagreed, completely. Taco Bell is not the way actual Mexican food looks nor tastes.
It's definitely homogenized American food.
The best part about reservation food is that we just call it food. My aunts and uncles make everything from scratch.
isnt that what everyone else calls their respective cultural foods at home, food?
reservations, you say... ever had an "indian taco?" >_>
