At this point negative, but it's usually positive!!!
@blackadamFTW: @ZombieBigfoot:
Well I made a theory, I was aking to myself why people is so negative and why there is people so unhappy, maybe it has to do with the things that they remember the most, when people remember something is not an event in an emotion related with the event, so, people have the same chances to have a nice life, dor example I was in "x-high school" (No I am not a X-men) and there we got happy and unhappy people, we can agree that some of the people had the same parties but people got different experiences over those events, negative and positive, so at the end the one that defines happiness is you, and what you remember the most is what defines what we expect from the world, that is my theory.
What I want is that users that I know to post so I would be able to know: why are they in the way they are? So I would try to put myself in their shoes and treat them in the right way, also there is stuff that I want to know; I am curious.
what are these "emotions" you speak of?
Negative. I'm a whiner.

When you remember something, what do you remember the most, a trauma, something painful (physically or emotionally) or so you remember cool stuff like your birthday, you christmas presents. Something like that.

I know, I was making a funny. But to seriously answer the question, my life is literally neutral, at 20 years old, I haven't had any significant tragedies, never lost anyone, never failed at something dramatically, heck, I have never even been in a fight, but on the vice versa, I've never had anything spectacularly great happen either, i'm in the grey like Liam Neeson.@The Stegman said:

This post plus your avatar reminds me of Aang when he had to hide his emotions so as not to get his face taken from him. hehe!

Well, yeah, my life is also neutral, but when I am trying to remember stuff, just the good stuff comes to my mind, to get the bad stuff I need to think a little more, but at th end I got more bad stuff than good stuff, bt waht matters is what comes to your mind the first seconds.

We remember negative events more because they tend to have a bigger impact on our lives.

That is not true at all...
Prove it.
I tend to remember my lowest moments over my happiest, but overall I am a positive person, I just don't pick out particually happy moments when I'm happy I just enjoy being happy I guess, but when I'm sad I pretty much analyze every painful moment in my life before I give myself a mental pep talk and move on.

Although I offer no proof I feel this is true at least to me. Negative events have defined my existence while positive events have reminded me I want to exist.

Essentially, yeah. They are more traumatic and therefore we remember them.
I had a lot of crap happen in my childhood that still kinda sticks with me. Now I was a happy kid and had a happy childhood, but those events still haunt me and the affects from that time of my life are still felt (medically related, not something actually "caused.")

Yeah, it is.
Negative, but when the ratio of negative to positive is 600 : 1, that makes sense.
My username comes from a ballad about killing yourself that I've listened to over 5000 times ffs.

You can have positive and negative impacts in your life, and one of those would affect you in a different way deepending on the kind of person that you are.
For example meet someone that makes you feel good, a friend; that is a positive impact that you would probably remember; have a trip to an interesting place read an awesome book, a poem, an idea; in my case I remember the positive stuff the most, I like to think that people endures and becomes stronger with positive stuff, the negative stuff is there to become positive, being negative is like a surrender, is not allow to yourself to be happy.
@JediXMan said:
Yeah, it is.
No is not, I already differ with that so that means that is not a fact, is not a truth.
That could probably be a fact for you, but not with me and other people, you remember your "traumas" because you brain wants to remember those as a survival mechanism, or probably you don't have any other highlight worth enough for you, for that reason you remember those feelings the most, that is the kind of person you are.
I have to say that I am surpriced, I expected you to be impartial on this, maybe I haven't talked to you enough.

In other words, positive stuff had an impact on you, because you let yourself to still being alive.

You are crazy, stop whining about your life, if you feel that need help, get help, posting how sad are you is not going to help you...
All I want is you to be happy.
You know, blind optimism and naivety doesn't instantly equate to lucidity. Just because I don't run around in the sun saying how awesome the sky is doesn't make my world-view any less legitimate than yours.

@Deadcool: positive things have had and impact on me, just they haven't defined my direction as a human as much as negative things. It's easier (at least for me) to correlate my existence by negative things.

Actually, none are legitimate, there is not truth, the things arround you are not black and white they are the color you want.

I see... But I can't think how a negative thing has defined yourself as a human.
Which also means that all are legitimate.@FadeToBlackBolt said:

So... yeah. I'll let them speak for me.
While it's nice to be optimistic, I outgrew that a long time ago. I prefer to see things for the way they are; does it make me happy? I guess in my own way, yes.
Same for both, I just remember. I tend to choose to put more emphasis on negative experiences though, because I find it a better motivator to better myself. Nothing really negative happens to me personally though so have to remember bad stuff that happened to other people though. Like the Morlocks.
I wish I could remember stuff.
to be fair I had a pretty hard childhood

Yeah, but what makes you happier?
Don't try bringing Existentialism into an argument with me, I'm better at it than you.
Well, we can try, I have nothing to do and I don't have nothing to lose, maybe you could win the argument, but I would also learn something.

Thanks for the info, I guess that you won in that.

This is what I expected from you.
Positive, i tend to romanticize everything.
Negative, by far. I'm a condensed mass of bitterness and hatred. On the plus side, that makes me value my positive emotions very highly, as they are rare spots of light in the infinite darkness of my inner mind.
as a little jamz all i heard growing up was 'f' you, 'f' that, 'f' them, 'f' this, 'f'everything... from my dad and that was a good mood. i barely recall him saying anything nice/positive toward me
Negative, and I revel in it! Bwahahaha!
