I just learned about it and it made me sick.
What do you think about the Tuskegee experiment
@i_dont_like_comics: What came out of it besides pain and distrust for the government?
@darkbeam: what happens if you don't treat syphillis.
Obviously it was disgusting and a pathetic way of experimentation. You really can't trust the government.
@i_dont_like_comics: So are you saying the people who died were expendable?
@darkbeam: no. you asked what came out of it. i answered.
@i_dont_like_comics: Oh ok.
In a country that enslaved Africans Americans for decades, I'm not surprised. This fits into all the other wrong things that have been done to black people for no reason.
@squares: is there a government that isn't scary? Hawaiian perhaps.
@i_dont_like_comics: Hawaii has its own government?
This is the same country that exterminated Native Americans for land, held blacks as slaves, locked up the Japanese in internment camps and forced sterilizations on those deemed unworthy among many other atrocities known and unknown. Its not surprising...but it certainly is depressing feeling that nothing can be done to stop that kind of evil from continually happening.

Don't forget pardoning Nazi and Japanese scientists en masse no matter how much evil they did so long as they were deemed useful. Or ruined the lives of thousands because of the red scare.
I don't know if this thread was inspired by this original series, Truth: Red, White and Black but if not, I would highly recommend it. It was based off this tragedy you've mentioned and is fitting to how the mantle of Captain America is now being taken up by another character who shares the same ethnicity.
@ms-lola: it was and yeah I definitely plan on checking it out.
Cool. Maybe we can discuss our takes on it after we've both read it. Very interesting topic, by the way.
This is what I think:
By the way, our government is sick. I don't understand why people still think they have our best interests in mind.
