This is the second day I'v been bed ridden with a pretty bad dose of the Flu and I'm starting to get really bored, I'm tired but I just can't sleep anymore and I tried reading some comics but it's starting to give me a headache, so what do you do when you have the flu?
What Do You Do When You Have The Flu?
MIx some clover honey and real lemon juice in some hot decaf tea. Add as much Brandy as you like. Sip thyself unto bliss..... Bourbon/Whiskey works as well from what I hear....
I try to drink alot of Orange Juice even though i'm hooked on to Mountaindew!
I drink good drinks to try to flush out the germs. I heard it helps, but I don't believe it. You can go to the Doctor and get Flu Shots and still get sick. How do I know?
Been there done that.
Excess Vitamin C intake may irritate one's bowels.
There is no cure for the flu. All one can do is sleep so the body can have the strength to fight and consume plenty of liquids which break down the cell walls of the virus making it easier for your body to destroy them. Your increased body temp is evidence that you immune system is in full swing.
SO the best strategy is to SLEEP until your body has repelled the virus.

@kuonphobos: so get so drunk I can't feel the pain?
Actually in some lands the tradition is to just lock oneself away from others with one's drink of choice and yes sleep one off. It is probably best to regulate the degree of drunkenness to a mild enough "buzz" which leads to sleepiness rather than a full on "bender". At some point alcohol stops being a mild sedative and reverses course which would lead to an inability to sleep.

Vaccines are a farce and dangerous.
OP, I have either got the flu (contracted yesterday) or an annoying cold.. not sure how to tell the difference tbh, but I've tried taking lots of vitamin C pills or drinks in the past (every few hours, take 4+ grams, depends on your body's tolerance level. The worst that happens if you take too much, you have diarrhea), and it usually helps. As well, peroxide dropped in the ear and let sit for a little while can help ear infections, if your ears are bothering you at all (happens all the time, for me, when I get sick ;-;)
Hope that helps.

@minigunman123: Ah ok... I'll remember that. :)
If you want I can actually explain what I mean, in PM's :P
For when you are too sick to sleep -- listen to music or some podcasts -- makes sure you are in a position to allow yourself to sleep when the drowsiness hits (and you are able to sleep) -- take ibuprofen for the headache (or some frozen peas on top of a thin cloth draped over your forehead) and drink, drink, drink.
Flu shots are great and life-saving. They aren't one hundred per cent but definitely worth taking advantage of. They are based on the flu prevalent the season before but they do give some protection.
Sleep and drink. And eat as well if possible for strength. :)
Sleep and according to my wife say some very strange things when I have a touch too much Nyquil, last time I believe it was racial slurs about things that don't actually exist, I think it was elves.
