Everyone has had dreams or are still dreaming big. Most give up dreams to get a crappy job and live a life that they never thought that they would. If you're one of those people that gave up on your dreams, share them. Explain what you wanted to do before you decided to do something else.

IF you're still trying to reach your dreams, explain what you're trying to do.

I'm personally trying to become an Author. I know it's extremely hard, but I'm not giving up. I got nothing else going for me. I also go Shark Diving in the Summer. I have no money, but lucky for me my uncle lives in North Carolina and has A LOT of money. I use to dream about being a Marine Biologist that studies sharks. I learned that I love reading and writing a little more than Sharks though. So hence the reason why I'm trying to write.

So what are/were your dreams?

Getting my own place fully paid off, a good job with plenty of free time where i feel like i'm contributing something to society, a beautiful and sweet/funny girlfriend or wife, and children. And for everyone to be healthy.

That's pretty much it. I don't really have any crazy or wild dreams..

That's really cool man. Dreams don't have to be crazy or unreachable. If you can get these things, life will be great for you. :)

You are all going to laugh as at me soon as you read it, but I'll share anyway:

techno-utopia

My favorite would be achieving post scarcity: post scarcity

Example of post scarcity: Star Trek Economy

I'm surprised to not see more answers related to things like sexual fantasies with Nightwing and/or She-Hulk, or becoming Batman or something. Give it time.

#10 Posted by Supreme Marvel (11264 posts) - - Show Bio

Becoming Bat...ooooh, nevermind.

I would love to be a novelist. Create stories, worlds, tales etc and get lots of money for it. With that money, make sure my friends, family and I are well supported and then build recreational centres to get kids of the street around the place am from. Build places that will give people jobs etc. Pretty much bridge the gap in my city between the rich and poor.

@lykopis:A Resource Based Economy is actually what exists in Star Trek(it is a form of post scarcity-in which goods and services are provided for free of charge).

Live in a small hilltop village in Provence, raise a family, be a school teacher, housewife it up for a bit.. write to my hearts content...

Or devote myself to my job, adopt three kids, climb the ladder to become top dog (I'll settle for VP) of compliance at some financial entity and make the big bucks...

=)

Gain a nifty degree, go travelling, get my masters, find love, get my PhD, have a family, write a book, grow old writing more books and researching to my heart's content,

Meanwhile, going on humanitarian trips paid by the revenue of my books, helping those less fortunate..

Then eventually erect centres to assist women, single mothers, runaway teens and the homeless with access to food and accommodation.

Eventually become an independent parliament member, making a change to politics and at least making headway and pointing out the many failures and stupid laws of society...

Not necessarily an officehusband.. its small town life right? I'd love to have a small cafe we owned maybe or if he had his own small town business... doing whatever he likes obviously...

And don't hate on the housewife thing. I just want to be with my kids while they are young and bake lots of cookies. I like taking care of people. ;P (down feminazi, down) Being a housewife is a CHOICE I would make not something I would have forced down my throat nor would I let anyone hold it over me in anyway. Trust me.

And yeaa I could settle for VP... still a huge pay cheque ;P

I'd like to become a teacher (most likely teaching English or French) and just be happy and healthy in general nothing really out of the ordinary.

Oh and I want this as my bedroom:

A bedroom built in the middle of an indoor swimming pool!?

Is it practical?: No

Does it live up to health and safety?: No

Is it so awesome that I don't care?: Yes!

I do get these dreams sometimes, but I stick with the flow. Try my best in High School, I´m working as a model for Elite Fashion Academy my first Fashion Show is sometime in April. Though the one thing in my life that I´m extremely looking forward to, is to be a father and a husband, nothing more and nothing less.

This seems to be the appropriate place to post this:

“I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and Attila and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet.”

-- Sylvia Plath
