Saw a "What are you watching?" thread and couldn't find a thread about what books you are reading so I made one.

So what are YOU reading? Doesn't matter if it's a graphic novel, comic book, web comic, novel, novella. Whatever it is post what it is and/or your recommendations for other books you enjoyed.

I'll start.

Right now I'm reading "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?". The book was the inspiration for Blade Runner. So far the book is pretty awesome.

Brubaker's Captain America, Claremont's X-Men and a bunch of university engineering textbooks haha. I just recently finished Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card, kind of a disappointment after Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, I don't think I'll be continuing the saga.

Currently reading A Dance with Dragons. A little late, i know.

On deck, waiting to be read are; Tai Pan, by James Clavell; and Musashi: An Epic Novel of the Samurai Era, by Eiji Yoshikawa

I recommend..

Survivor and Lullaby, both by Chuck Palahniuk; for those who enjoy a rather weird tale.

Inferno and The Lost Symbol, both by Dan Brown; for those who enjoy history, mystery, diabolical schemes and well implemented plot twists.

The Morningstar Strain Trilogy, by Z.A. Recht; for those who want a suspenseful, thrilling story about surviving a Zombie Apocaypse. Also: Rise Again, by Ben Tripp, is another good zombie read.

@nerdork: You're a Palahniuk fan??? 8D Sweet, I'm just reading Tell-All. Survivor and Lullaby were both fantastic, but I think my fave is Invisible Monsters.

Invisible Monsters is a really good book. My Favorite is Survivor. His books are consistently entertaining, and strange. Have you read Haunted? That book is gruesome. LOL

Finished Preacher. Was good - though not necessarily top tier like some of the other Vertigo series I've read. The comedy was extremely juvenile and not my taste. But the main story was very good.

Prolly gonna check out Sweet Tooth next, since Lemire is too awesome.

After that I'm going to check out either DMZ, Scalped, Transmetropolitan or Northlanders.

At some point I'll get around to Fables, but I'm a little intimidated atm.

I'm on a Vertigo kick - what can I say? I was pretty dumb not to read this stuff sooner.

Hehe yes, that is probably my second favourite of the ones I've read, and not just for Guts! And he supposedly based that part on some of the stories he heard researching sex addicts for Choke? Crazy what some people will do to get their kicks O_O

Reading a novelization of Episode 1 of Star Wars.

pretty good.

#48 Edited by sagejonathan (2107 posts) - - Show Bio

@jonez120: Yeah, I've read all of Dan Brown's books. I liked the Da Vinci Code, I loved Angels & Demons, The Lost symbol was pretty good, Digital Fortress was OK, I hated Deception Point, and Inferno is alright. I slowly am just getting tired of his books to be honest because he has a very formulaic writing style. Alone, each book is a fantastic or at the very least solid thriller. After reading them all, it's tiresome.

#49 Posted by Jonez120 (5474 posts) - - Show Bio

@sagejonathan: Yeah, I agree with you one hundred percent.

Plus it was really cool when I read Inferno because I had just finished the game Dante's Inferno a few months prior lol.
