And said signs regularly say "GOD HATES AMERICA." They're a bit of a cult. They dedicate themselves to informing literally everyone that they are going to hell for ___ reason.

This is disappointing, if not surprising. It's extremists like these who give not only misrepresent Baptists, but humanity in general. The God I know wouldn't condone this - no right-thinking Christian would even say things like these.

My prayers go to the families of the deceased. As for these protestors, I leave them to God.

Get enough people together to simply block their signs and themselfs from the Camera. Suddenly they can't achieve their goal and their freedom of speech remains protected.

Fun story about the WB Church:

My school is VERY active regarding social rights. Which is awesome. Of course, the Westboro Baptist decided to picket the school. Buuuut....they forgot to check our schedule. They were going to picket our school during Spring Break. A bunch of kids made signs and stuck them in the windows, then left. WBC picketed for a bit anyway even though there was no-one there.

I think some kids then sent them fake invitations to the local drag ball.

You know it's something... we got people in Boston who lost their legs and some even died...innocent kids in Connecticut that was killed by a crazy man... but these old white crazy people like Fred Phelps and his family are still alive and able to do this sh!t. Perhaps GOD is much like Loki after all... a Supreme Deity who loves mischief.

That's a rather uninformed things to say. I'm not even remotely American, never even been there and I sympathise with the victims. It concerns me and I find it disgusting. You don't have to be American to care. Just putting it out there. I agree with the rest of your post though. Those people don't rep Christians very well

That's because technically they are doing nothing illegal,as stated by the First Amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
