I was just thinking. I'm not a huge Superman fan so I don't know the answer to this, but Supermans weakness is kryptonite.

Does he gotta be a certain distance for it to effect him or what?

Well, yeah. It takes a certain amount of the radiation to effect him. The further away he is, the more the radiation fades, so it wouldn't so much to him. In order for the radiation to effect him enough to counter his regenerative factor and physical strengths, it would have to be at least a half a meter away. Different writers interpret the effects differently though. One will say it only takes a pebble to harm him, while the other would say it takes a piece roughly the size of a football to effect him.

@Hero4life: It actually varies. Sometimes he can be in a room filled with it and still have his powers for a time. Sometimes he instantly goes down. If it's a brick sized piece of kryptonite it would have to be with-in 20ft for it to start hurting him.
