"Pretty insensitive of the media to report that the royal baby is a boy before it's had a chance to establish it's own gender."

"Way to let feminism down Kate."

"It's too soon to impose gender roles on a baby."

Letting feminism down is a stretch but I get the gender roles thing.

What...?

What gender roles he is a boy. I know england is liberal, but this child can't even articulate his thoughts yet. If he can't articulate his thoughts then how do you know what gender he establishes himself to be.

What do you do until he identifies himself with a gender? Do you paint his room in a gender neutral yellow, buy him G.I. Joes and Barbies.

Also a comment (second column, second down) says,"...I hold out hope he turns out to be gay...". Where I'm from you hope people are straight. Why would you wish that horrible lifestyle on someone?

@thespideyguy: Im not sure I get what you're saying. The child's gender is independent of what it feels. It can be either a boy or a girl.

He has a penis, he is a male.

Genitalia does not equal gender *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

You can be born with a penis and still be a girl*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

You can be born with a vagina and still be a male*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Gender is a social construct and it isn't black and white, its a spectrum*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

@fuchsia_nightingale: Lol, true. I'm pretty sure most of these people weren't entirely serious with their tweets. You can't hold the parents at fault if they assign a gender to their child who later in life realizes that that's not who they are.

But in that battle, since Booth was on Myspace..he was the one that died.

Also, this is just ridiculous. It's a boy, he has a penis. People need to stop overreacting.

Isn't that a bit excessive....the only vibes i get from the whole situation is of pseudo-progress.
The kid is a boy which by definition means young male.It doesn't matter if he is gay or straight he still is a boy.
People complain about everything these days...i guess it is because we are spoiled by our society.

Gender and sex are actually two different things.

However, I really think this whole 'gender identity' thing is ridiculously stupid.

It's a boy. Raise it as such. If it wants to be something different when it grows up, then let it be.

Simple as that.

I mean seriously. There are legitimate differences between a man and woman, besides physical anatomy.

You see all the time in nature. Females and males have different roles and actually act differently. You don't see animals having an identity or gender crisis.

.... he is just a baby for goodness sake -_-

This just seems beyond absurd.

Why is being gay a horrible lifestyle?

Why is being gay a horrible lifestyle?

Like he said in the previous sentence, it's probably because of the discrimination gay people face in some societies.

Well its not that being gay is horrible but it is the people who discriminate that are. Instead of saying that you hope people are straight people should really attempt to be less bigoted.

Even though the baby could not be cisgender et cetera that's a very small chance so it would make sense to raise it as a boy until something other than the norm is ascertained to be its true gender. I would laugh if the baby ends up being gay though, that would sure put the royal's in quite a sizable knot.

But more on topic, these tweets are abhorrent, its almost like people are disgusted by the idea the child could just be a regular cisgender, heterosexual boy, why is that so bad?

@betatesthighlander1: Hmmm, are we not supposed to? I have never really gotten along with feminists (militant feminists) but I never linked it to being trans. I always thought I just found them unpleasant because they were maniacs.
