So yeah, generally speaking, game-based movies and movie-based games are not that good. So which of the two is actually worse than the other? Video games based on movies or movies based on video games? Do leave out the exceptions and look at it from a generalist point-of-view.
Video Game/Movie: Which is worse?
Well, since I'm a sucker for Tomb Raider movies (HELLLLOOOOO Angelina Jolie) I go with Movie-based games
Actually that is very hard to pick... Probably a video game based on a movie, based on a game like Street Fighter the Movie the Game.
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher bay, beats out the movies, so i say movie based on games. Some games don't have enough to transfer to a movie like Mario
King of Fighters and Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li take the cake. The former is unspeakably boring, the latter offends me beyond reason.
*cough*E.T (Atari 2600)*cough*

This post is a win!
Immediately remembered Uwe Boll and all Bloodrayne movies, Far Cry and Postal… I’ll go with game-based movies being worse.
Ehm, it's kind of half and half for me. The Cap game made a few years back was fun as heck! Thor was the complete opposite. Spider-Man 2 and TASM were pretty fantastic, R.I.P.D. was not.
I actually liked Green Lantern Rise of the Manhunters, Home Alone for the SNES, Aladdin for the Genesis, etc.
Movies based on videogames are fail after fail.
