seriously! id like to know if anyone ever noticed this! i just found out about it yesterday while i was watching freakazoid online instead of working. In the cartoon Freakazoid! which in my opinion if one of the funniest, and most insane cartoons in existence and i highly suggest you check it out or re-watch it, and for those of you who don't know what freakazoid! is and are too lazy to watch it yourself i supplied the video in question for your viewing pleasure

OF COURSE YOU DON'T! its Cheeks the toy wonder, sidekick to the practically unheard of, yet highly underrated comic book character from DC comics Ambush Bug! sure he may be blue and have a W instead of a C, but there's no mistaking him. just compare the images. i have some links for a pic of the two of them, and one of ambush bug as he appeared in batman brave and the bold. you might have to cut and past the links?

ambush bug is a character who's claim to fame is his blatant disregard for the fourth wall. forget Deadpool and his little quips, ambush bug took breaking the fourth wall to new and ridiculous levels. his comics are also jam packed full of comic book humor. essentially he's the star of a comic book who's sole purpose is to mock comic books. so after some thought its not surprising that he would be used as inspiration for Freakazoid, which surprise surprise, broke the fourth wall at every turn and is jam packed full of funny.
ambush bug did make an appearance recently in the cartoon "batman the brave and the bold" in the last episode, where he tried to stop Batmite from getting the show cancelled. actually that's where i heard of him first, and being the huge Deadpool fan i am, i couldn't resist a character that so blatantly broke the fourth wall. although cheeks never made an appearance in that episode.
now i figure i'll give a short description about who ambush bug actually is. His real name is supposedly Irwin Schwab, but that really doesn't matter at all because he's insane and chances are the name is just a delusion on his part. his power is teleportation, at first requiring little robot bugs to be used as reference points, swapping places with them when he teleports, but he eventually doesn't need them. and he was started off trying to be one of superman's villains, actually giving superman a run for his money as a devil may care villain randomly killing people in an effort to build up his street cred, but he's defeated, and after a while in arkham asylum he decides to become a hero instead, making a few cameo appearances and getting a few mini series and one shots iwth things getting progressively crazier, until his "son of ambush bug" series begins. this is where things start getting really crazy. really, really, crazy.
you know what, i dont think i can do this character enough justice, go look him up on your own.
