TV Land’s decision to yank repeats of “The Dukes of Hazzard” over its use of the Confederate flag has backfired — with DVD sales of the Southern-themed ’80s series skyrocketing in the past few days.

As of late Thursday, DVD sales of the show, which originally aired on CBS (1979-85) with stars Tom Wopat, John Schneider and Catherine Bach, have spiked onAmazon.com — occupying several slots in the Top 10 in the movies and TV categories.

Season 3 of “Dukes” came in at No. 2, followed by Season 3 at No. 3, Season 6 at No. 4, Season 7 at No. 5, Season 5 at No. 17 and Season 4 at No. 10.

Two more “Dukes” titles placed in the Top 20.

TV Land decided to pull the show off its schedule because the car in the show, the General Lee, sports a Confederate flag painted on its roof.

The network’s decision came in the wake of the racially motivated June 17 church shooting in Charleston, S.C., in which nine African-Americans were gunned down by an admitted white supremacist.
