trolls - how do you deal with them?

One, some, or all of these things: - Slam down their argument. - Ignore them (sometimes after the previous method, thereby ignoring further replies) - Flag them The reason for #1 is so that others can see who the logical one is and who the troll is. Continuing the debate, however, is generally just irritating and pointless.
This I agree with.
Repeat the same phrase over and over again when they post. It get's them REALLY pissed off. It doesn;t matter what the phrase is. It could be "I think nachos are yummy" if you want. It's the phrase ITSELF that angers them.

I use this method sometimes in order to get my point across if it's being ignored. In truth I have had a lot of wars here and there and a lot of times it's just a difference in views. People see things differently and as long as we learn to respect one and other's opinions and thoughts wires won't get crossed. Now there will be a thing or two that a member will say that rubs your ideal's the wrong way, opposing a member can start a small debate which are all in good fun until a person get's too involved personally and get's nasty and refuses to lay off when the person they are debating clearly has lost their taste for the argument. That's what I perceive as a troll. if we can't find a common ground then it is pointless to continue and argument.
This has it's draw backs to as a person will take this as you backing down on your point ultimately making them the winner of said argument. That's why in most of my post I always say "IMO" or that "nobody has to agree with me". That leaves what I'm saying open for friendly debate and creates an opening for me to exit should I run into a member who refuses to compromise. There are a lot of members here who truly believe in their knowledge to the point of being arrogant and sometimes rude, if you run into these kinds of members it's best to just steer clear rather than steadfast because it does not matter how many points you make they will not fall back and you'll have a 20 post war in a single thread. Make your point wait for a response, if it is in good spirits respond back if not ignore it.
This site has very specific rules, which can leave a lot of wiggle room and holes for some members to get around. I've seen Bans occur on a lot of members simply for defending themselves when they are being rudely and persistently attacked by 4 or 5 different members over an opinion, then when that member reaches a boiling point he get's banned or reprimanded over a curse word. Public forum or no, this site and any other site should promote clean and friendly arguments. A sensible and polite member shouldn't be warned for blowing up after being harassed for an entire day because he/she chose not to ignore it, while the harasser is allowed to continue because no one found anything wrong with their points or they are considered tough to the ladder being considered a whiney victim. As always nobody has to agree with me though...
When a troll is slashed by this bastard sword, it cannot regenerate as it would when hurt by a common melee weapon. The wounds heal at their normal rate, just as if the troll victim didn't count with additional regeneration powers at all. The Trol'kalar also procs additional holy damage to all evil creatures (trolls included).
The Trol'kalar curses any evil creature attempting to use it with one negative level (debuff). This curse inflicts the wielder as long as the sword is wielded. This one negative level curse cannot be cured nor dispelled, it will affect the wielder as long as he has the sword at hands.

Stop b#tching about them..acknowledging that they are an issue for them only works in thier favor. They are only here to annoy you and ruin whatever enjoyment you get out of these forums so, it would make more sense not to even act as if they matter..you know like in such ways as making a thread about them.
There are no Trolls.
Maybe if you stop calling people troll there wouldn't be trolls. -__-
