Which is worse?
Trolling vs Flamming
Flaming. I consider trolling to be the lesser evil, since it can just be for fun and totally harmless.
" Flaming. I consider trolling to be the lesser evil, since it can just be for fun and totally harmless. "True.
I have come to realize that people who resort to insults honestly have nothing to say. They have no way to refute the argument and are frustrated with the fact that the other person is right - whether they like to admit it or not.

" @InnerVenom123 said:This isn't true at all.People who retort in insults SOMETIMES do so because they feel they've been disrespected or because the person that are making an argument is making one that is incredibly wrong or asinine but on top of that they are being stubborn about it it.I get frustrated more with dumb arguments more so than people proving me wrong." Depends. Personally, I take the view that insults are meaningless; it's all about your own perception whether they affect you. Calling somebody a troll may or may not count as flaming; it's both telling them what they are and warning others. But as you said: SOMETIMES. Not always.
Me, I don't bother with insults except for the occasional troll comment.
i'm in a constant state of semi-trollingness. I have genuine comments on serious subjects, but with a goofish undertone. Or in the stupider threads, it really doesn't matter, so i just have a good time. because do i really need to take "Deadpool vs Galactus" seriously?

"Right sometimes, but you said that people who insult others have nothing to say so I assumed you meant all the time.Sometimes people get frustrated for legitimate reasons. Not saying flaming people is ok.Trolling and Flaming both suck. The guy that came here today and made all those threads directed at me...that type of trolling is meant for attention whoring and technically doesn't hurt anyone because it's not like he said anything bad about me or anything like that but it does make unnecessary work for the mods and it does get annoying the same as insults do.Someone gets flagged and then they have to sort it out.Nobody feels like dealing with that type of behavior.
Am I a troll or flamer?
My humor and comments aren't very popular here, so it might seem like I'm a troll/flamer. How do you see me?

"I haven't seen many posts from you that I had a problem with but the difference between trolling and flaming is based on your intent. If you intended to insult or disrespect someone then you're a flamer (flaming is trolling too if there is no purpose or it gets out of hand) and if you are simply attention whoring and saying things for reactions..your a troll.I'm not saying you are either of these just telling you the difference.

People insult me all the time. I smile, because I know their comments to be false.
" @JediXMan: @Vance Astro: I say things that piss people off and tend bring attention to myself here. BUT I'm not doing it intentionally, it's just who I am "Depends. Give me a link to where someone called you a troll and I'll see if I agree or not.
Both are really bad.
if someone is really good at em, it can be comedic.
this is true
have some of you ever tried to troll or flag on any website?
Flaming is obviously worse, if its done seriously. It's especially bad when people are flamed because they have different opinions on films or whatever, or because they are unaware of some small scientific or historical fact (not everyone has the same knowledge folks, and it's likely that you may). I can be guilty of flaming if someone seems to lack common sense, seems incapable of following basic logic, or promotes idiocy (e.g. conspiracy nuts), though.
Trolling can be fun if done well, which admittedly isn't often, and isn't intended as malicious flame baiting.

Same level in a sense to me, but both have become minor things for me anyways.
I have more good people to focus on here than ones who attempt to subdue me,
much less, to even take part and acknowledge any form of abuse from someone.
Smile, walk away, go snuggle with your lovers.
" First off how is your background black? And secondly, thats some serious flaming O_O "Click on the arrow next to your name on the top right corner of the screen and click the black A.
The best part is, I asked InnerVenom the same question when he first posted that (in the thread where that guy was trolling). My background has been black ever since.
