Think Up a Practical Use For a Cape

Capes are essentially useless and create a lot of drag, although they look great. Think of a way they could be useful.

So far this is best I could do:

1: The cape is electric, touching it will shock foes.

2: The cape is telekinetic, you can take it off and wrap stuff with it telekinetically. Although that almost defeats the purpose of ever wearing it. Unless your lazy about telekinesis.

3: It makes you invisible when you cover your chest up with it.

4: It goes intangible so that a person pulling it won't get an advantage.

Anything else you guys got---I'm all out. And by cape I mean a normal one, not like the batman cape.

The cape looks cool. It's there to look awesome and cool. No better purpose in the world! :)

Gives an aura of nobility and power. Whenever you see one of those really old, Dark-Medieval age kings in full regalia, chances are, they're wearing a cape along with the crown. So it could give you a slight aura of awesomeness if you've got the confidence to pull it off. Another practical use would be if it was camouflaged: The human eye is trained to pick out other human outlines. While cloaked in a cape, particularly a camouflaged cape, that outline is broken up.

I'll edit as I think up more.

Really Batman is the only character I've seen utilize a cape. Gliding, fighting, covering from blasts, etc... But IMO there's more cons than pros.

Emergency blanket. Can be used in times where: you have not a blanket, want to set up a picnic, or just wanna snuggle with that certain someone.

Well Batman utilizes his cape in a number of ways.It is fire retardant, and bullet proof,it allows him to glide the tips are weighted so he can use it in combat etc.And also for the symbolism as well.

Shove the cape down the throat of idiots who talk crap.

Or just garotte them.

Or a real world application for a cape.... It can conceal a weapon

Alright more realistic and simple suggestions without super power involvements:

  • Warmth
  • Camouflage
  • Gliding/Slowing falls
  • Fire Retardant
  • Kevlar lined to protect from blasts or possibly bullets (This would get very heavy though)

I can see it being usefull sometimes, but since some of these can be put directly into the suit it probably creates more problems then anything else to hop around in a big cape.
