These endings are exactly the same

Just a fun thing i realized. All Star Superman's, The Dark Knight Rises's and The Iron Gian't endings are all exactly the same.

All of these movies/comics have the exact same ending. The hero saves the world (in two of the cases it's a bomb he's saving them from), but dies doing it. They raise a statue in his memory and in the end it turns out he didn't die at all. i'm sure there are more movies that end like this, but these are the ones i realized were very similar.

Guess why.

It's sort of a common ending, going out in a blaze of glory and being recognized for it.

Haven't seen the movie, but I've read the book. Explanation was that he overcharged and bodily died. Whether his consciousness survived or some nonsense like that was never outright said.

Beast wars and Reboot did the same thing, mirrored. In beast wars optimus gets blasted away in a pod, just like bob, then they both come back a couple seasons later upgraded, casually saying a catch phrase from the first season.

Yes it was. It's confirmed that All Star Superman evolves to be Superman Prime One Million within the series and it's even strongly hinted that All Star Superman is also Unknown Superman after he fixes the sun but before be becomes Prime One Million.

@arturocalakayvee: That was not confirmed, it was at best, very lightly hinted at. It could even be an alternate version considering the Superman legion were Superman from different timelines.

After his death, it's simply assumptions.

It is like the end of Nolan's trilogy, he leaves the audience to make assumptions and to choose their favorite end to the story. That is the same thing Grant Morrison did with All-Star Superman if you ask me.

@tdk_1997: But the ending of TDKR was solidified, the cast members (and recently, Bale included) all confirmed that Batman definitely survived.

I thought it was pretty clear he didn't actually die. Seeing as his future self, SMP1M, was in the story and remembered one of the labors. We also see him in the sun "fixing it".

@oscars94: I remember The Dark Knight Rises being pretty modern, and All Star Superman too.

I recently read somewhere an interview from both Bale and Nolan who said that what Alfred saw in the end was indeed the thing he wanted to see and it was all in his mind, and that if Batman is actually alive is unknown for the characters in the movie.
