I know that this isn't gonna turn out good.Threads involving anything tied to any belief (not religion,belief) never turns out that well
The wiccan thread turns out well.

So you only believe in "god". Do you believe in God or do you believe in "god". Notice I capitalize "God' for the christian God and god for any other "god"
yes, iz christian orthodox !
Theism is a group that contains more than just Christianity... it's not like Christianity is separate from Theism... that is the point.@King Saturn said:
To be fair it asked for Theists and Christians. Theists can include other religions other than Christianity.
@MasterJohn:
Yes.

This thread won't turn out well.
@mrdecepticonleader: I'm not one just stating the fact that a lot of people on here are Christian or at least claim to be.
Hasn't this already been done?

Probably someone who is a Christian who accepts evolution as well.I presume that's what it is.
@pooty:
It's a Christian/Catholic who believes that God created the universe and life through the use of evolution. I.e., instead of 7 days of instant creation, over time, God created what we have now through natural processes we study today.

@mrdecepticonleader: @Necrotic_Lycanthrope: I thought that is what it was. But because the percentage of people who believe in God and evolution is so low, i wanted to make sure. I like that line of reasoning though.
Where is your evidence of that?
I only believe in GOD nothing/no one else no Jesus, Mohammad...You don't believe that they are god/special in a religious sense, or that they existed? Because one is fine, the other is a little ridiculous.
It's a really funny fact (assuming it's true,) because the Catholic church itself officially recognized evolution as a probable theory in 1996.@mrdecepticonleader: @Necrotic_Lycanthrope: I thought that is what it was. But because the percentage of people who believe in God and evolution is so low, i wanted to make sure. I like that line of reasoning though.
@SoA: I thought about making an apatheist thread where we don't know if there is a god and we don't care. It would be forty-nine pages of kitten videos and jibber jabber.
@SoA: Yeah, pretty much. Since I'm not a theist, I'm out.
@pooty:
I guess it's because we live in a time where if it's not on camera, it doesn't exist. Even though there are places and occurrences that defy all scientific explanation (although, even in those cases, scientists tend to ignore them saying that the moment they come up with a new theory, they'll discredit the religious implications of it.)
@Kal'smahboi:
I think now the church takes a role in that they explain science and religion in a theistic evolution way; God uses evolution to create the life that we see (and possibly don't see in the case of aliens. In fact, I've asked the whole thing on ET, and they'd still be considered "children of God" because they where created under the all father.)
Also it depends on the pope; John Paul 2nd saw science and religion as two halves of the same coin, not different beliefs and practices. Benedict the 16th is more into Creationism, but in terms of how the human "soul" was created, rather than the physical human body, which is still believed to be a product of God-influenced evolution.
Non-denominational Christian here.

a question I often hear posed by atheists, agnostics... why are black people so religious ? it's because this sh!t is rooted in us... we have had Christianity about as long as we could speak broken english on this corrupt land of America.
But alot of white people are religious as well.Your talking about people in America where the overall majority are religious.
yes, there are a lot of religious white people in america... but the percentage of religious belief within white people is not as high as in the african american community... among african americans the percentage is from 84 - 90 percent of us are religious ( depending on which poll is being used ) whereas among white americans the percentage can be from 62 - 70 percent as religious...@King Saturn said:

I edited my previous comment. The stat I used was just for a select group of people. not a world wide stat.
Not really targeted at anyone, but the Catholic Church supports evolution insomuch as intelligent design being a component of it, of which it is not.
To accept God as the one directing it and not the natural environment is not believing in evolution.
