This site needs a Steampunk thread! Steampunks unite!
Steampunk offers us a retroactively futuristic glance at the untold future of an age that we passed by, a re-imagining of how the Victorian era may have progressed if technology had progressed into the mechanical rather than the technological. How would the world have turned out if things ran off of steam and cogs, rather than batteries? What would the people have been like? How would they dress?
Steampunk has been giving us tons of possible answers to those questions for decades, and become a subculture of its own right. This has extended to fashion, music, and everything in between.
So, without further ado -- full steam ahead!
