The Stanley Kubrick Thread

Hi there everybody! this is the official thread that is devoted to one of my favourite (if not my absolute favourite) film directors of all time, "Stanley Kubrick"!

So this thread will be about what people think of this film legend and what there favorite Kubrick movie is, as well as talking about the films and have some tributes to the man and the films he directed as well.

Well, his Shinning was far better then the idiot's version who actually wrote the book.

One of my favorite directors. His movies are perfect.

Room 237 was pretty interesting a lot of ideas that didn't occur to me while watching The Shining. Of course you can chalk it all up to overanalyzing but still interesting for someone who's a Kubrick fan.

Oh, and he filmed the moon landing...

Even though I think Stephen King is a brilliant writer, I do have to disagree with him about his opinion of Kubrick's adaptation of the Shining.

And it's quite funny that he hated the Kubrick's adaptation of the Shining which was a brilliant movie, so he decided to make his own movie adaptation of the Shining which turned out to be not so brilliant LOL!

2001 and The Shining are art.

A Clockwork Orange and Lolita (I hate how they sliced off a big chunk of book to accommodate the 90's version). Uncomfortable films are the shiznit and Kubrick excelled at that.

His face looks like the one of a father dissapointed about his son.

Full Metal Jacket...probably my favorite.

A Clock Work Orange = total trip.

So many great movies t ochoose from. Either Clockwork Orange or The Shining.

Guy's never made a bad film, besides Eyes Wide Shut.

Spartacus is my favorite Kubrick movie.

John Ford is probably my all time favorite. But Kubrick is definitely in my top 5.

i think he's the god for indie directors. he was really into counter culture.

Full Metal Jacket, The Shining, 2001, and A Clockwork Orange were probably the best movies he ever made in my opinion.

I need to watch Dr. Strangelove.

Stanley is good, but he's no Ingmar Bergman.
