I think the Simpsons are alot funnier and family guy copies them they copied the whole family idea. Also many episodes family guy has done The Simpsons have already published.

well the simpsons will always be better because like they say in southpark "Simpsons did it" which means they have done everything and still making watchable episodes and just came out with a movie and still we are still full of laughter.

Hmmm, Family Guy was really funny for the first few seasons, but then it turned into non-sense crap. The show stopped making sense to try and get a cheap laugh, and it's entirely based on flashbacks that have no relevency to the show what-so-ever. Simpsons win.

Well, I have the first few seasons of both shows on DVD, and I can say that I liked the Simpsons better. But in my professional opinion, I liked Futurama better than either show.

No, you had to be a little intelegent to understand that show. There was more to the jokes than just stupidity. Math and some other concepts were involved, and if you understood it, it was funny.

One the writers of the orignal simpsons are the guys who wrote for futurama, Both have the same cerators and you missed the point of Futurama, "Everyone can relate to family".

Thast what Futurama was all about, poeple finding each other, Diffrent people from all diffrents lives creating there own family, It was deep. Lol

Actually Family guy is very cleverly written. They tie in themes and songs from broadway plays, old television shows, obscure commericals etc. Maybe it's not stupid, maybe you don't get the references, or it's just over your head.

Point taken, but some of the younger viewers won't understand, and on top of that, the old movies and broadway shows are just references that don't make any sense to what's going on.

Thats what I like about it the spontaneous jump from regular cartoon to broadway musical. I agree that overall you have to give the nod to the simpsons because they have been around forever and it is still funny. I just can't agree that the story lines suck and are stupid, or that they copy the simpsons. My wife hates cartoons and doesn't think they are that funny, but she appreciates how clever and original Family Guy can be.
