Its time to help Closure with Math Homework again since I suck (Please) 
 
Collect like terms and solve.  If you can please explain how to solve.  I'm lost and my teacher well thats a long story  

1.) 5c-2+c = -8-4c-1  
2.) 2k+4+2k = -6+3 
3.) 6m+7m = 8-m-8 
4.) 7r-8+8r = -2-7r-8 
5.) 8j+4-3j = -4-j+2 
6.) 9h+4-3h = 1+4h-2 
7.) f-8-3f = 3-7f+4 
8.) 3(2s-3) = -(7-s)

OMG my head hurts!

I should be able to help anyone with math. It's my best subject. Don't ask me anything about biology or chemistry though. I had terrible teachers in High School so I never learned anything in them.

1.) For a number, use n. 2 times that number can be represented by 2n. 3 less than that would mean subtracting 3. And 2 more than the number means adding 2. So it's saying that 2n - 3 = 3n + 2. Subtract 2 from both sides, and subtract 2n from both sides, leaving you with -5 = n. So the number is -5. 2.) Here, you'd first distrubute the 3 to 2f and 9, and the -1 to 7 and -b. So you'd get 6f + 27 = -7 + b. The most you can really do next is add 7 to both sides and get 6f + 34 = b, because you can't combine terms with different coefficients. 3. Distribute 4 to 3c and 1, and -1 to 5 and -c. You'd get 12c + 4 = -5 + c. Then you subtract 4 from both sides, and subtract c from both sides, leaving it as 11c = -9. Then divide by 11 and you get c = -9/11. 4. Distribute 5 to 2d and 5, and -1 to 9 and -d and you get 10d + 25 = -9 + d. Then subtract 25 from both sides and subtract d from both sides and you get 9d = -34. Then divide both sides by 9 and you get d = -34/9. 5. Distribute the 3 to 5b and -7, and the -1 to 7 and -b and you get 15b - 21 = -7 + b. Then subtract b from both sides, and add 21 to both sides, leaving you with 14b = 14. So b = 1. 6. First one is (x + 2)(x + 3). The two numbers to get zero are -2, and -3. To find it, just find two numbers who add to become 5, and multiply to become 6. Second one, you first add 2y to the both sides and then subtract 36 from both sides so you get y^2 + 5y - 36 = 0. You try to find two numbers which add to 5, and multiply to equal -36. Two numbers which fit are 9 and -4. So it should factor to (y - 4)(y + 9), and it equals 0 when y = -9 or 4.Oh, and if you ask, ^ just means "to the power of". "
