Kevin Durant will have to turn it up...
The NBA Thread
You'd have thought this was a shortened season the way the league has been decimated by injuries. I have a Mel Kiper big board for my mock injury draft. Right now Steph Curry is seated at number 1.
In the interest of full disclosure, my Lakers over Spurs pick isn't looking too good right now. lol
Neither is my Celtics over Knicks lol.

If they had a healthy Rondo I think they'd be able to take, but they're just so old and reliant on PP and KG.

Yeah I agree with Rondo it would be a much different series.
OKC might not make it out of the next round.
This. Also, I don't know who is winning the west now. I would've said clips, but after 3 straight games of Memphis imposing their will, they don't look the same. I can't see DEN or GSW winning the west, okc might not make it past the second round, and spurs always seem to get booted somehow. I think things got alot more uncertain.
Also, the knicks are going to have a tough game tomorrow, with celtics brimming with pride, and knicks without JR. I wonder if Melo goes bonkers in that game.
Man, the Lakers imploded after Kobe's injury. Curious to see where Dwight ends up next year. Seems like he came off as a bit of a head case this year.
Really bummed about Westbrook's injury, because I'm a huge Thunder fan. Having said that, What that OKC ball boy did was pretty F'ing weak.
The Thunder will handle the Rockets, but I don't know how they'll handle a team like Denver, (fingers crossed, Golden State wins the series) or San Antonio without Westbrook. We will see how much they miss Harden now.
Nobody wanted to touch on the Jason Collins thing huh? I'm just curious when Griner is going to admit she/he's transgender.
@gambler: I said something about it in one of the threads on homosexuality respect... I am starting to think Britney Griner might be Reggie Miller with a Wig on and Makeup... I mean he could not get his ring cause he played during the Jordan era... why not try and give the WNBA a shot ?
@king_saturn: LOL Reggie Miller.
Can the Bulls restructure Derrick Rose contract since he has turned into a Punk and won't help his team out ? I mean that's a lot of money to pay someone who isn't even trying to help his team.
Just a Question : If Magic Johnson would not have contracted HIV in 1991, and would have kept playing. You guys think he could have taken the Lakers back to the Finals and play the Bulls and beat them in a Rematch of the NBA Finals ?

Hmm I don't know, I do know Magic would have most likely played the 4 spot instead of the 1...the dude could not even guard his shadow till that point.He would have no doubt succeeded in said position but I don't know if the Lakers team would have beat the Bulls.
Anybody heard Chris Broussard's Comments over the whole Jason Collins coming out situation ? That negro should have kept his beliefs to himself...
@king_saturn: I dont know, I think he articulated his thoughts rather well and respectfully. In order to really have an honest discussion about Jason Collins people who do not agree with his lifestyle choice but respect him as a human being should be able to voice their point of view. Especially on Outside the Lines. Had he just come off the cuff during a TnT broadcast of the Nets/Bulls or something I would agree. That isnt really the place. But Outside the Lines is the perfect platform to hold that discussion in my opinion.
@king_saturn: That's a double standard, nobody asked for Jason Collin's sexual preferences, and really who the hell cares about who he likes to do behind closed doors? Everyone is making a gigantic deal about it when a lot of people who are homosexual don't feel the need to announce to the world that they're gay. Broussard didn't bash him or insult the guy, he simply spoke his beliefs to a direct questions asked of him. I don't agree with what he said but I guarantee you that he's not the only person who works for ESPN that thinks along the same lines, and I'm glad he told the truth rather than give everyone a PC answer.
@gambler: I don't think he did... Broussard used that ole "Well the Bible says it's a Sin so I am against it" argument... but the Bible said in that very same book that those who eat Shellfish have done an Abomination... as well as it talks about Animal Sacrifices and how they should be prepared as well as you have passages about killing brides who are not virgins on their wedding night. Leviticus is a horrible book to generate morality from and that very belief about homosexuality for Christians generate from that particular book ( though it's sort of stated in the NT as well )...
@king_saturn: I'm not debatable the legitimacy of what the bible says. Just that Broussard (and others) should be able to respectfully disagree. And when I say he articulated himself rather well I mean he wasn't using homophobic remarks or slander and expressed his own believes on the subject without being a bigot.
@gambler: oh

As much as I strongly disagree with what he said (and I do mean strongly,I mean SA Superman strong) I do respect what he said,he was not being insulting or anything like that he said what he said in a respectful manner and was no being offensive.
Sidney Moncrief's total numbers in the NBA are not really HOF worthy...
On paper they don't but if you look at what he has done on the court it does match up.
Durant is BALLING. I think this is the beginning of his true dominance.
Durant needs to get his teammates more involved in the game.

please elborate... I see he was defensive player of the year a few times ( that's cool )... an all star five or six times... his scoring was average to slightly quality at best... what is it that made him more than the stats show ?

Mainly is defensive prowess and versatility you also have to look at his shooting percentage and the fact he was awarded to 5 All NBA first teams.

You've been listening to barkley a little too much. lol 6 assts is good enough.

True. But this postseason is going to be a real growing experience for KD and company. Plus hopefully Presti will realize how awful a coach Brooks really is and fire his butt.

Moncrief was good defensively... his offense was only slightly above average... Moncrief only made it to 1 NBA First Team though... he made 4 NBA Second Teams... that's still pretty good... but it's a short window of greatness.... 5 seasons ?
