Ok so am i the only one who thought that the matrix trilogy was the best trilogy ever. Some say that Matrix was boring, slow, and made no sense. The thing is if your not smart than you wont get the movie. Can you believe a San Fransisco News Critic gave this a 20%. I mean this scene should be more than enough to give it 50 at the least.

Some people will say it's anti-establishment, that's one of the negative things you'll hear about it.

It introduced a new concept on how to use slow motion technique therefore you can say it's one of those movie that's not friendly to the oldschool pauses and timing. Many of its artistic value is based on CGI, 3D mechanics.

So it's like Avatar in a lot of ways, weaponize against the oldschool indie flick's survival.

I did like the movie when I was a kid.

Well they did steal the script and story of the first Matrix so it is obvious the last 2 were not as good. For having nothing to work with though they did a good job.,

Everyone loves the first Matrix. It's the second and third that people don't like. Me, I didn't like Reloaded, but I liked Revolution.

That's ironic.

I love how people use the defense, "you just don't get it," when someone criticizes something they like.

Ok I am not a grammar nazi but I didn't really care. Also, the matrix was a complex movie that you had to be smart and patient to understand.

That's not really true. The Matrix is a mash up of a bunch of other works by smarter people. Take Ghost in the Shell, the Invisibles and a quick lesson in Descartes and you have the Matrix.

That said, it's a great film.

Reloaded is pretentious crap that violates its own rules, but with a few good action scenes.

Revolutions is just an absolute abomination. Totally unwatchable.

The Matrix is a terminator prequel. So before any of the movies you mentioned would be irrelevant due to it coming out before the named movies

Yeah, you're right. I just don't get how deep the exaggerated slow motion action sequences are.

@TheAnnihilator: I said some people don't get the movie because they thought it was slow, boring and made no sense because they didn't have the patience or intellect to take in the movie. When i said you had to be patient and intelligent to understand the movie that's because you do. If you want straight action go see a different movie, if you want a movie that has no aspect of plot development or required knowledge watch another movie. I do know some people that understood the movie and did not like it because they just didn't like it . That's why i said some.

Yes it was. It tries to be complex at the start but they pretty much fed the twist to the audience via silverspoon when Morpheus explained things.

You know how you know the first one is good? Cause it was critically acclaimed and a box office hit despite Keanu's crappy acting.

@HolySerpent: I strongly disagree with your first statement.

There really isn't much to understand with the Matrix trilogy. There's far deeper and more thought-provoking works out there.

I loved the first but the second and thrid were pretty bad. The scene with Neo fighting the agent guys for what felt like half an hour (I don't know how long it actually was) was just irritating

I did like the first one, second got pointlessly convoluted by the end and the third was a mess. Matrix was groundbreaking for it's use of special effects, not because of it's story. The idea of fabricated realities has been in science fiction for decades before The Matrix, look at films like Total Recall.

This is true, it wasn't just an action movie. However, these sites are people digging for things and making them up, like the Indoctrination Theory. Or maybe they really did have trouble understanding such a simple movie.
