It is decided! Blindness goes through!

Alright, looks like this will be the penultimate match before the finals!!

WHICH IS SCARIER?? O_O

Autophobia........ being lonely sucks.

@bumpyboo: Will homophobia be on here?

Fear of being alone I guess, don't fear either but I will go with that.

#205 Posted by Impala (264 posts) - - Show Bio

Xenophobia. I always appreciate quality time with me,myself and I.

#206 Posted by BumpyBoo (9140 posts) - - Show Bio

@mrdecepticonleader:

No, I am trying to stick with the definition of phobias as fears, rather than the alternate definition of the suffix -phobia merely indicating an aversion. Good question though :) That is why I used the standard definition of xenophobia as fear of the unfamiliar :)

Fear of being alone certainly has more creative possibilities.

How so?

#211 Posted by RazzaTazz (9630 posts) - - Show Bio

@laflux: Xenophobia is kind of ingrained into our genetic makeup in certain ways. Fear of being alone could be be a powerful motivator for someone.

I actually quite like that approach :) So would you then say that xenophobia is worse, in the sense that it is more destructive?

Auto-phobia. I always feel like I'm being watched.

Xenophobia

#216 Posted by RazzaTazz (9630 posts) - - Show Bio

@bumpyboo: If I were to write a story then I would write one with the loneliness, not the fear of outsiders. I am already writing one where Hadephobia plays a small role. Xenophobia is more destructive though.

Does Autophobia mean fear of being a lone in a house type deal or being alone as in "nobody loves me"?

@bumpyboo: In that case I'm saying Autophobia. If anybody says they don't get a little creeped out when there sitting in there room at night and get the sudden realization they are completely alone then there lying

Okay, Autophobia it is, peeps! ^_^

What's scarier??

ENTOMOPHOBIA (fear of insects) vs GELOTOPHOBIA (fear of people laughing at you)

@bumpyboo: Depends on the insects, but I've happily held Tarantula's in my hand. I would probably pee a little if a Brazilian Wandering Spider ran into my room though. So I will go with being laughed at, given no Insect in England, or Wales for that matter, gives me cause for concern.

#225 Posted by BumpyBoo (9140 posts) - - Show Bio

@laflux:

Hehe, good point :) I guess I am counting insects as anything other than spiders, since they had their own match earlier on. And enough people seem to be bothered by one but not the other, it seemed right to put them up separately :)

I know the feeling, I get that when I can't sleep too, it is horrible O_O The other one is I keep going to adjust my glasses because I can see them on my face, but I'm not actually wearing them. Seeing things when you're tired sucks >_<
