@madeinbangladesh

I think Tech's got good stage presence and he can tell a story, but I've never liked his rhyme schemes - they're almost too simplistic, I guess. I do like Lowkey though, he's got a cool accent. His first verse on Voices of the Voiceless is pretty dope.

"My art is like Rembrandt - painting pictures of death camps."

I'm going to go see Big K.R.I.T. by the end of this month. There are so many concerts in June (my birthday month) and I don't have a job right now ;( I wish I could go to all of them.

Anyone a fan of The Flying Lotus?

NEW YORK GIRL DEM GO MAD OVER ME.

Just re-listened to Life is Good after having not heard it in a while...forgot how good the album is.

@veshark: Juicy J stands out like a sore thumb.....

@mikethekiller: Thats so f*cking true its not even funny. Its pretty sad, actually. "I love rap, I hate rappers"

#8474 Posted by Yung ANcient One (4358 posts) - - Show Bio

Everyone in black highlight I've already seen. The ones in Red are the only one's I'm personally interested in seeing someday. The one's in blue I am interested but not that much because I always miss them in festivals and I always see their names at one event or another. I hardly ever see KiD CuDi or Jhene Aiko on flyers.

What a ridiculous music video. First time I ever listened to a song by Action Bronson. Dude sounds like Ghostface and I like the lil homage he pays to EPMD - Rampage.

Put these MC's in Order from Your Favorite To Least Favorite

French Montana

Wiz Khalifa

Vado

Cory Gunz

Drake

5. French Montana (Nope, just nope)

4. Wiz Khalifa (Hate this guy, Snoop Dogg-lite. I heard his earlier work is better, but his verses always came across as weak. Also, he's one weird looking mofo - the ONIFC cover?

3. Vado (Never heard anything from him....he's the dude with Cam'ron right? Wait isn't Vado a camera?)

2. Cory Gunz (I liked him in A Milli. Can't say I've heard much else from him)

1. Drake (I know the dude gets a lot of hate - but honestly, I enjoy his music. He's a good mix of arrogance and sincerity. Also 5AM in Toronto is dope!)

#8484 Posted by Veshark (8489 posts) - - Show Bio

Also, has anyone heard the Yeezus performances by Kanye? I know New Slaves is old news by now, but I just heard Black Skinhead and On Site. Really hope he can outdo MBDTF.

I heard a review on the album Yeezus, the reviewer said it sounds nothing like anything Kanye has done before. Like he is on some really really new sh!t.

I don't know what's worse, this little ni**a rapping (poorly) about sh** he doesn't even understand or the fact that, somewhere behind the scenes there's actually an adult funding this madness.

Damn, really hope so. This is what Yeezy does best - he pushes the genre to the limits. His new songs have this whole 'angry black man' techno/soul kindof vibe to them, really dark feel.

@mikethekiller

Sigh....that's just depressing. There's good young MCs like Shyheim and Earl and pre-Illmatic Nas. Then there's this.

It's a whole new generation of ignorant rap, courtesy of individuals like Soulja Boy & Chief Keef.

Kanye West's new album is Pretty Good...

I'm kinda weirded out by it. It feels so unlike MBDTF, reminds me more of WTT/Cruel Summer.

If there's a Kanye album it reminds me most of, it's actually 808s for some weird reason....

It does not remind me of 808's at all IMO... Kanye was actually rapping on Yeezus... he was using that Auto Tune Machine for the majority of 808's... Yeah, his new album is different... but the change is not as bad as it was from Graduation to 808's and Heartbreak...
