@ccraft: Yes, I actually enjoy it. It was cool how he implemented peoples sins into their torture.

I read passages when I was in college, and it's pretty cool. It deeply influenced people's perceptions of Hell.

I have no idea the translation I read, but I suspect any translation for sell would be fine.

I need to go back and read the whole thing myself.

The Divine Comedy does not consist only of the Inferno. It consists of:

  • Inferno
  • Purgatorio
  • Paradiso

People only talk about the Inferno, but that's just one part of the Divine Comedy.

@theacidskull: Yup, those are a few reasons why I wanna read the book. Is all of the book written as a poem?

@vinomonster: No, playing the game does not count, and it will never count!!!

P.S. I played the game too :3

I read the comic version of Inferno by Emerson. Good enuff for me. More tongue in cheek, too. I read so much serious literature, so I like to have stuff that doesn`t take itself too seriously. Every day, in fact.

Also, I`d like to read less known classics. I`ve read the Epic of Sundiata (Finnish translation), and have been reading Popol Vuh and poetry of Khanty people. Easy to find from a library. A good one, that is.

If you're book doesn't have footnotes I suggest you have an Encyclopedia ready on the side. He basically puts all of his enemies in hell, and since they're his contemporaries, he doesn't go into much detail why he hates them.
