The Best Rivalry in SPORTS are?!

Well for all you sports buffs out there, feel free to post away. What do you think is the BEST rivalry in sports? 
 
I'll list my picks(although according to recent survey the Yankees and Red Sox won it, as well as Sports IllustratedI have to say I agree...) but I'll list my top 5 picks ;)  
 
As a sports buff, these are my top picks in Sports:
 
#1. (MLB) New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox-Easily #1 out there & the oldest, between the history(since the 1920's), never ending saga and the fact that the organizations and fans deep down hate each other, and to this day compete over players before the other can do so, combined with their history makes it easily at the top of the list and #1 in Baseball by far....as well as sports overall. Every Yankees/Red Sox game to this day is crazy, long, interesting and sold out.
 
#2 (NFL) Red Skins vs. Dallas Cowboys-Much like the Yankees/ Red Sox, it's just not comparable in NFL with any other rivalry...these two are big rivals, have some history and continues to be big to this day. 
 
#3. (NBA) LA Lakers vs. Boston Celtics-ever since the 80's thru present, there's been a bit of a rivalry between these two. 
 
#4.(NFL) Patriots vs. Colts- Both teams have a huge rivalry, especially of late...
 
#5. U. of North Carolina Tar Hells vs. U. of Duke Blue Devils(NCAA Basketball)

The "Jordan Rules"

all those rivalries are weak game compared to  
Roma  v Lazio in Italian Soccer 
Both clubs are from the capital city and more then a couple times the game has been stopped due to some drama on the field or off 
  
Inter v Milan,  
another city derby 

Barcelona v Real Madrid 
the only two two teams with any money in spanish football 
 
Celtic v Rangers 
it's basically catholics vs protestants with a ball 
 
in france there's  
Marseille v PSG
that ones also known to get crazy  
 
anyone of these are far more intriguing then any american sports rivalry where the fans have players from the other team in their fantasy teams and are cheering them on too

So true, Toronto Raptors Fans are loyal, but when VC left, any games between Nets and Raptors were amazing. VC's buzzer beaters were clutch too. "

Oakland Raiders vs San Diego Chargers..I know the Raiders are ass..but there fans are insane especially when it comes to the Chargers playing them.

I'm from the South so I will say this... No Pro Sport has a true rivalry. The Yankees and Red Sox play at least 18 times a year! None of their games really count for anything so I'm going all College. 
 
1). UNC vs. duke I'm from NC and trust me... this is intense. Families have been torn apart over this, seriously. Nothing like a in-state rivalry. Even better when it's practically next door. Neighbors, family members and co-workers all mingle and hate each other when they play.  
 
2). Tie Ohio State vs. Michigan/ Auburn vs. Alabama... Same as UNC vs. Duke just for football. State vs. State and Neighbor vs. Neighbor go to The Bighouse or The Horseshoe and compare to Sox/Yankees. Doesn't compare College Football Rules! 
 
 3). Giants vs. Eagles... Crazy fans vs. Crazy fans. These people booed Santa... freakin Santa!? Intense. 
 
 4). Georgetown vs. Syracuse... Upstate basketball. Check the history. This is THE  rivalry for the Big East. Lot's of classic games here. 
 
5). The Big 5... La Salle, Penn, Temple, Villanova, St. Joe's. If you live in or around Philly you understand how intense this one is. I witnessed first hand for a few years when I moved up there. They go at it from everything Football to Track and Field equally it's a really serious rivalry.

They actually do count a lot NightThrasher, and it's 19 times a year...they count lol how can you say that? *scratches head* that's 19 important games, actually every game is important during the season but those games make the difference 9 out of 10 times whether you gain over your rival directly or not... 
 
I think some people are misunderstanding this topic a tad, not about "nutty fans" which tons of sports, teams etc have...I can be here all day with that one lol but rather the best rivalries in sports overall, organizations, atmosphere, history etc besides just the fans...
