The setting is an Olympic sized swimming pool, inside this pool is a full grown and fully alive great white shark. There are no other variables that you can use to your advantage and the shark is neither hungry or full and has complete freedom within the pool, the question is:

Would you swim across the pool (length ways) to the other side for £1million?

Yes. The shark would be dead or dying because of the chlorine water. I become a millionaire and call PETA.

Bleach and chlorine are not good for a shark's health.

Pretty much this.
If we take that out of the equation, I would have to say....

Sharks are known to cruise at 2MPH in the water, and can go up to 15MPH..that and I don't swim that well.

@utotheg38: Remember people, sharks are vulnerable to Nose punches.I'm mean, sure you can lose a limb by attempting it but atleast you'll have enough money to buy a new artificial limb.

I would do it... cause all I would have to do is show the Shark "The Power of The Brown Lizard" and that Shark would stop dead in it's tracks and I would just swim across.
