Spongebob, I admire Mickey for being one of the first (if not THE first) mainstream animations...but he has never, ever been funny to me, and it's only gotten worse after he became the "Everyman" character to oppose Donald's wackiness.

Spongebob on the other hand has made me laugh countless times. I grew up on the guy.

i watched spongebob more cuz he came out around the time i was growing up. but ultimately mickey is king over all but i can say spongebob's phrases alot off the top of my head

Spongebob easily. I love the original episodes from 1999-2004 and i can probably quote every episode word for word even though I'm in high school. I still quote the show every day and use references that my friends don't understand because they're "too cool" for Spongebob which I think is silly. I am probably going to go to the midnight premiere of the spongebob movie 2 in 2014 which I'm excited for because they got the orginial writers for the movie.

As for the fight, if spongebob gets the magic pencil he stomps.

I'm in college and I brought up the Rock Bottom SB episode and did the raspberry voice ("I *psst* can't *psst* understand *psst* your *psst* accent *pssst*) and literally everyone in the class knew what I was referring to and laughed.

Mickey Mouse cause Spongebob is only interesting to people with really low intelligence or those under the influence of a drug.

Mickey. Old school 1930's-80's Disney cartoons were the sh*t and blow Spongebob away.

@the_stegman: I wish i had a class like that. Most kids in my school are too embarrassed to admit they watched spongebob or they had a horrible childhood. In my school it isn't "cool" if you watch spongebob or into comic books like I am.

Some old school Disney was indeed the sh*t, but none of it involved Mickey, he's nothing more than a figure head, never found him funny.

Tons of respect for Mickey, but I gotta go with Spongebob.

Spongebob is funnier but Mickey is more endearing. Also, Mickey has Kingdom Hearts. Nothing Spongebob has ever done or will do can too the badassery if King Mickey.

My answer hasn't changed, Spongebob is funnier. I'm not gonna vote Mickey just because of his "iconic" status.
