So If humans are like power level of 1, then how does a spirit bomb become so strong? So 8 billion people on Earth, so that's spirit bomb of 8 billion, and not only that, but the Spirit bomb takes energy of everything. Is there a difference between power level and energy? If it's energy, then wouldn't the Androids be enough since, they have unlimited energy? Now Android 17 and 18 that's two unlimited supply of energy, so wouldn't they be sufficient enough since all the humans were being idiots?
Spirit bomb how does it work?
Spirit and fighting level/Power Level is not the same, the perfect example is Broly, his Fighting Potential is great but is intimidated by Goku's will/spirit.
@superrobotargeist: Doesn't quite answer the question

Fair enough, the energy needed to cast Genkidama is not KI but Life Force. Goku can run out of KI but he most likely will not die, but if Goku takes too much, the one's he is siphoning the energy will die.
@superrobotargeist: I see, thank you.
@superrobotargeist: Actually, with his fight with Kid buu, couldn't Goku just take some of the spirit ball and use it to make him stronger? I mean the bomb was big enough, taking some wasn't going to make it not work, right?
I should have waited... watching the kid buu vs Goku and then King kai explained it, but anyway ^^^^^^
Oh and why didn't Goku go Kaio-Ken to push back the spirit bomb

Genkidama is a channeling attack, meaning the user is only a conduit to channel the energy needed. Channeling Attacks require total concentration so any other attacks to use as a combo might disrupt the channeling process.
BTW, Goku cannot execute Genkidama in SSJ form because the one channeling must have a serene mind first and SSJ main fuel is rage.

to add, kaio-ken is already outclassed by his SSJ form with its power mutiplication of x50 his base and higher multiplications of kaio-ken tend to be dangerous to their users. i'd assumed x51 kaioken would be deadly to goku
@kyrees: Goku can't handle 50x kaioken? lol
@icametoaskquestions: How does it work?
By holding your arms in the air, grunting, looking constipated, and profusely sweating for 13 straight episodes.
@icametoaskquestions: x20 kaioken already put a visible strain on goku, x51 would outright kill him
@kyrees: Super Saiyan boosted his strength x50. If his body can sustain a Super Saiyan, then he should have no problem doing a Kaioken x50.

I wouldn't compare the two, in his fight with frieza he went X20 and was beat after 30 seconds yet fought as a SS for a while with out issue.
Also op human power levels are like 5.
@marshall_long: except SSJ transformations don't tax the body like kaio-ken does. kaio-ken is an artificial booster while SSJ forms is an evolution point to saiyans
@kyrees: but that fight was with frieza he got stronger, didnt he
@icametoaskquestions: his battle with frieza showed the limits of kaioken and that's why he resorted to that spirit bomb. goku knew from experience that he cannot endure higher multiplications of kaioken and x20 is his limit.

Yeah, and how far do would you think human fighters like Krillin or Yamcha could go if they learn Kaioh-Ken? Goku can go 20 because of he is a Saiyan.
@kyrees: oh :(
IMO PL tells us how much ki energy a person posses, however, if a that person doesn't have energy manipulation skills, to boost his speed, strength, durability, or to fire that ki in a form of energy beam, then that PL is useless.
Normal people in DBZ have a PL 5, and PL 200-400 is enough to blow up a moon.
I think that is normal person (PL 5) had a same energy manipulation skills, like Frieza, Piccolo or Goku, they could blow up entry city, but since they don't even know they have ki, and since they don't know how to use it, it's usless to them.
This is why energy from normal people can be important ingredient for a spirit bomb
Absorbs energy from all life forces, uses it to create an energy ball.
Spirit Bomb for dummies.. explanation
Yo bump
None of yall answered this part, just explained what a spirit bomb was.

Started thinking about it due to recent events.
