The Discover Channel suggested that Megalodon's are still alive and out there in the wild somewhere. They're getting mocked for it, though.
Probably just a larger Great White if it was really dragged down. Sharks are after all cannibals
Wouldn't that be a Greater White shark? : P
@wildvine: Hilarious. It's put me in a good mood for this evening's teaching. Guest Lecturing about the Practical Study of Environmental Mechanics at Night School for a friend.
It was a larger Great white that did it as they called it a "colossal cannibal great white shark" .

WHY COULDN'T YOU LET ME POST IT FIRST!?

Isn't scary when you learn that the sea is far more uncharted than the Moon?
It is scary, well to me at least.

Especially the deep dark unexplored areas that make up a lot of the unexplored. Who knows what lies down there.

To me too... There are things down there that is a whole new level of nope :-\
@thitiki: @dragonborn_ct: That is the mystery .
Couldn't the tracking device on the shark be eaten instead of the whole shark? I mean that makes more sense than thinking some giant kaiju gulped a great white.

It was Bloop.
I thought it was never a sea-monster but rather ice-shelves cracking as they break up from Antarctica.
@WarBlade539: That's what the Bloop wants everyone to think. Its nefarious followers have implanted false knowledge in the minds of the so-called "scientists" that fail to grasp the wonder of the Bloop.
@WarBlade539: I wouldn't doubt it, but I love the thought of that actually existing. And kudos to you for actually knowing what it is.
@god_spawn: I knew too. ._.

Haha! Thanks, mate.
Yeah, I have always entertained the thought of an ancient, powerful sea-creature lurking around in the ocean depths just lying and waiting. And considering the fact that a vast majority of the Earth's water-mass is largely uncharted, it's not entirely implausible.

But honestly, it would be scary and fraking awesome if that were true. *conspiracy theory time*
