• The Moonlight Butterfly
• Nito
• Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough
• Seath the Scaleless
• Chaos Witch Quelaag

If I had to pick one... ugh... that's hard. Probably Gwyndolin, but I really want Priscilla and Sif, too. Those three had the best designs.

Now this is reminding me how... boring Dark Souls II was in comparison. You can't top these boss designs.

@jedixman: Fantastic choices every one. I thought the Moonlight Butterfly encounter was just breathtaking. For me it would probably be Quelaag :) What I love most about the DS enemy designs is the sheer variety and scale of them. Am very much new to the series and have had my mind blown so many times over!

Haven't played 2 yet, but I'm hearing from most people that it's not as good :/

While a really easy boss fight, I agree, the Moonlight Butterfly was beautiful - right down to the setting and the music. Loved every second of it... almost felt bad killing it (same for Priscilla, actually).

I, to my shame, haven't beaten either one yet. Plan to - mostly the first one. The second one doesn't interest me as much; the enemies, bosses, music, and level designs were so much better in the first game. Anor Londo is still my favorite location, followed by the Painted World of Ariamas.

My reaction was like this: "Okay... lizard. Okay... okay bigger lizard. You can stop growing no.... WHAT THE... HOLY CRAP WHAT IS THAT THING?!"

Ugh. Horrifying, deceptively easy boss... but amazing design. I'll add that to the list: that thing has a really good design.

@jedixman: It really was :) And yes, I like the way the game can do that to you, even a generally pleasant scene - from an atmospheric perspective at least - involves feeling kind of guilty and awkward. The unrelenting, pervasive bleakness! Why, Dark Souls? Why??

No shame in that, I haven't beaten it yet either! The level designs are fantastic though, I love how all the different areas link up so neatly, it just seems so well though out.

AGH. Yes I have seen the Gaping Dragon. Easily the creepiest enemy for me so far, all those teeth. So many teeth O___O *shudders and tries to think of puppies and unicorns*

Overlord either Hasbro make one or a third party company (I hope this one from MMC follows through and gets made) I just really want an Overlord figure.

A Maniac Cop by anybody really, just not MCFarlane they would make it 5 inches talll and make it a statue :P
