Be sure to inform us when you do mmkay. :)
Different Tastes
So you agree with this man or are you making fun of him? I can't figure it out.
I agree with his top cause of teen killers being environmental. But his second, I can't. "Violent" music, games, movies and shows can't be the sole cause. I think they can maybe be the tipping point or help the teen with a little push towards committing a crime. But it's not even a major cause. People like to pin the blame on simple things like music, games, movies, guns because it's easier. They don't want to admit that it was because of something much more complicated or prominent in society. Maybe like everyone being on prescription drugs, bullying, or bad "inattentive" parenting like Phil mentioned.
And if I listened to ICP for 10 straight hours, I wouldn't want to go out and shoot people. I'd want to shoot myself for the absolute waste of time and torture I forced upon myself.

Big Phil? Ha ha!
"Phil is a bullying expert because he's a bully. I wrote a review in Youthworker for one of his products that was less than enthusiastic and he kept calling and harassing our church secretary demanding to talk to me. Maybe he gives kids pointers on how to use de-contextualized Bible verses to excuse horrible behavior."
"I was going to say what Matt said about both bullying and taking verses out of context. I remember him well from YS days. He scared me then, and I think he scares me even more now!"
So he is a bully? Ha ha! LOL!
How about a space opera show?
Whats wrong Phil? Does such a show require too many of your brain cells?
They say science fiction makes us better people!

@darling_luna: what do u mean "uncharacteristic"?
@darling_luna: what do u mean "uncharacteristic"?
Not like you.
@jaken7: I already know the meaning, I don't know why she's saying I'm being uncharacteristic.
@life_without_progress: Just never seen you talk like dat hehe
@immortal777: reality shows aren't poor taste they're just mindless entertainment and that's all people want to see, entertainment. It's sad though when good tv shows get ignored and the cheap money making shows like The Bachelor keep going on and on but sometimes all we want to do is sit back and watch something easy and simple to grasp. Sad but true,

There's a ton of violence in media and that causes bad behavior in kids, teens, and adults.
If someone is letting fictional violence get to them and influence them to do bad things - then they're just weak minded morons from the get-go. There is no other way to slice it, really.
Lets stop trying to give people scapegoats that they don't deserve; the sooner society man-up for it's own fault, the better.
@dccomicsrule2011: It's how people are, and violence in media makes people more violent. There's ton of behavioral scientist who say so.
And the aforementioned people who are affected are weak minded, in my honest opinion. I can also find studies that say the complete opposite, because scientific studies such as those are hardly conclusive. I just read upon a study that was published just this year, by british researchers that says violent video games don't influence kids behavior in a negative light, for the most part.
The research then when on to say, that kids who play violent games are more likely to behave better than those who don't - ergo - proving the before-mentioned point.
@ccraft: There's also a ton of evidence/research stating there is no link between violence in movies, video games, music, tv, etc. and their effects on people's behavior or decisions. For example, if some sick bastards tie a ten year old up and glue his eyelids open exposed to violent things on tv for years and years with them telling the kid violence is good. After being released in to the real world and killing someone, then yeah there'd be an argument that this violent material affected this kid.
Millions upon millions of people in this country have been exposed to violence in the media from a young age including me. Yet I and the whole country isn't out killing each other for fun or committing crimes. Placing the blame on little things is irresponsible. The real causes are deep and no one wants to address them, because it'd be much easier to blame it on one little thing like a video game or something.
@dccomicsrule2011: People will also bring up evidence on how humans aren't increasing the Earth's climate.
@silkyballfro94: Violence in media makes people more aggressive behavior, I'm not saying they become a murderer after watching bad things on tv. Your example is not a very good one. Kids learn from movies and violent tv shows the way to solve conflicts through violent acts. That's why some school forbid kids from wearing superhero clothing.
